Keith Thurman has an exceptionally high boxing IQ. Crawford has exceptional balance and Canelo likes to stay flat footed; like Errol Spence. He doesn't;pop back and forth as he circles. This was Bivol's biggest technical advantage over Canelo and aside from Kovalev being way out if his prime' it was why Bicol was so much more effective than Kovalev. Crawford is the best in the sport at 1) timing and 2) feinting, making his opponent reach, and having the ability to step back while and generate the same amount of force on his punches as when he throws them straight out of his boxing stance.WHY HE DOMINATED SPENCE. The only thing MAYBE is that Crawford is susceptible to wanting to go toe to toe and bang it out with Canelo out of ego which he has done against a few big punchers and got away with. But he is smart at who he can do that against.I doubt he will do that against Canelo though he didn't do it against Spence he is also the best at 3) making adjustments. Canelo is not good at this in my opinion he usually already has his opponent figured out with his team. Canelo avoids the guys he knows he won't beat or have problems with. He is underestimating Crawford because his size, which is perfect for Bud because Canelo is going to be even more in that mode he has transitioned too as his career has progressed in that he throws less volume and more power. Canelo is not fast, im sorry he isn't. And he struggles against athletic fighters with great reflexes who know how to move their feet. Bud also has another thing Canelo doesn't have. His biggest weapon: MOXIE. He is savy and a lot smarter than Canelo he will play on Canelo's frustration. Canelo needs to catch Crawford; and Crawford's FOOTWORK is the key more than anything I hope he doesn't get too caught up in catching and countering in the pocket. He needs to Catch and counter, one of the most important parts of the fight for him and is how he stops guys with his unbelievable ability to combine that with timing. But he has to pick and choose and do that while moving. Use his reach. Go back and forth from orthodox to south paw
. Even though he was young, Canelo would never have never done much different against Floyd Mayweather than how he did the first fight. It's not a question of maturity it is more of pure reflexes. BUD should study the Lara fight which is a fight that Lara should have at least gotten the draw. And Bivol, how Bicol pops back and forth while circling constantly. Bud should push off his front and back foot more than ever before angling out. 
We will see keep in mind Charlie flights flat footed as well. The fact that Canelo took this fight shows in my opinion that he doesn't grasp Bud completely. Because it is what he did; t grasp about Bivol and we know he wouldn't have taken that fight if he realized what he was up against and way more important WHY the what he is up against is a problem. He thinks within his own box.
But he size strength plays a big factor anyone whop has ever been in the ring and had real fights knows that feeling when you get hit with a few shots and actually get to tangibly feel the other guys power; and knows they gotta utilize speed and their footwork and operate in a systematic fashion. They guy who is not a thinker it screwed in that situation. Bud is like Andre Ward though, he makes adjustments. And he will do the smart thing to win the fight that's what boxing really is separates the goods and the greats.

One thing that is certain, Bud is NOT fighting Canelo for money, though it will still benefits him. You don't jump from 147 to 168 just for "money". He already said it multiple times, he wants to be the face of boxing and that can only be achieved by defeating the current one
