My brother and I as little kids watched band of brothers on repeat. Bought the Junior uniforms from At the Front and had Airsoft guns to play in the yard.
I remember that my mom had basically been somber about it that he had passed away.
It’s so strange how a person we as kids never met, but had read about, watched shows about was such an iconic figure as children…
Now as a father myself, Richard Winters will be a legend in our household. Calm, cool, and collected.

Incredible man he was. I wish I could’ve met him when he was still with us. I could’ve sat around for hours listening to his stories and asked him how life was for him in the later 40s and throughout the 50s. Thanks Erik for another great upload of this legend.

a) It feels kinda out of person for Winters to talk about Liebgott as a killer
b) When he was talking about the concentration camp. And this is by far more doubtful. This episode was more hollywood than reality but I see how they needed to portray this and it is a great episode. Easy Company never discovered a concentration camp. They were just supporting units. It was discovered by the 12th armored division. There were also not that many prisoners left, as the SS took them on a death march to Dachaus before liberation.

I am really not sure if this might be clickbait and put words into winters mouth he never said.

And for Dick winters to think that he wouldn’t be remembered I can’t imagine he doesn’t realize I guess he doesn’t realize what this means to, anyone who is actually ever seen the series, Read it, or stopped to think about what all of these people, soldiers and civilians went through for freedom.

Just saw Band of Brothers and The Pacific for the first time since they were both released. What an accomplishment, only outdone by the brave soldiers they portrayed. Major Winters was always my favorite. One heck of a great man and leader.
