I mean its unlikely unfortunately bc the l4d devs are the people who made back for blood.

A direct sequel would be an awful idea, now spin offs wouldn't be that bad because your completely changing the game, the actual game, like a vrgame thats just like half life alex, but L4D or an open world

You know the funny thing is when Left 4 Dead 2 dropped just a year after Left 4 Dead 1, people generally thought that Valve were becoming EA and making L4D franchise a annual release (just like your Maddens or FIFAs at the time) people hated that they abandoned Left 4 Dead 1.

As there original plan for it was to continue to update the game with downloadable content (DLC) and pretty much keep it going as a continuing developing game. Think of it as a “game as a service” type deal you’d see now.

They started work right away on L4D2 just after barely finishing L4D1 development. They then issued this plan to be for L4D2 instead for “technical reasons”.

L4D2 DLC was free to steam users in updates, whilst was price walled on Xbox due to Microsoft wanting it and if not being denied access to publish on the Xbox Platform.

Friendly reminder that good games still get made today. If all you play is COD then yea you'll be dissapointed. But Ready or Not, Resident evil 8 are great fps games. And possibly the greatest zombie game ever made: the re2 remake, came out in the past five years. Gaming isn't dead.

I had a successor to l4d I Built in unreal engine, no ads, shoving, and large mobs, with a pretty decent AI director, but as the gameplay felt great, I was not any good at designing models, so I bailed on the project. But it was just cool to see it in UE5

IMO L4D2 and COD BO3 Zombies are the best Zombie games out there

And yes we definetly need L4D3

Honestly, this video makes me want to cry, because YOU ARE SO RIGHT, about how all of the old zombie related games i used to play, i enjoyed, but the failure of the release and creation of NEW zombie games as good as these ones, is a LITTLE BIT of the reason why, i jumped in front of a semi truck, n for God to step in n save me.....................................................

I hate to say this but I feel like the only way we can get a new left 4 dead game is if another studio or even turtle rock buys the IP from valve and even the half life series and portal games as well

Realistically the best way to get what we want is for us to all band together with a studio that we believe in who will risk making Left 4 Dead 3.

Look at pal worlds.... They were going to have a whole lawsuit over it but not only were the palworld fans man but Pokemon as well so they dropped it pretty much... If valve out of all companies tried to sue somebody I don't think anybody would ever play one of their games again. So we need to ban together

Left 4 dead 3 needs dual wield Highpoint pistols. They jam up after 5 rounds and can then be used a melee weapons

It's coming eventually, they just had to finish source 2. They are going to bring almost every product that they have to source 2 (Their Devs have said this), so worst case scenario is that we just get l4d2 ported into source 2. Which would still be amazing, and would revive the player base and keep the game alive for another decade. I feel the same way you do man don't abandon hope yet! Valve I believe will come through for us on this eventually.

The problem with Valve is they don't treat their IPs like games, they treat them as tools and whichever IP they develop a game for is what tool they're gonna use to show innovation in the gaming industry. This is why we don't really see sequels or new IPS from Valve anymore. They only do it when THEY feel like the time is right and whatever game they use to innovate the gaming scene is whichever tool they feel would fit their innovation best.

Left 4 Dead 2 was the same way, but only because Left 4 Dead 1 as they put it was never meant to ship in the first place. To them, Left 4 Dead 1 is in an incomplete game, Left 4 Dead 2 to them is what the first game should've always been and forever will be the complete package.

The real question you need to be asking when it comes to wanting Left 4 Dead 3 is, "What can Valve use the Left 4 Dead IP to innovate the gaming industry with next?"

A few years ago I would have agreed, now that I know sweet baby is involved with valve I’d rather the Ip stay dead and buried with its dignity respected.
