Viví em Belo Horizonte 24 anos da minha vida, conheço cada canto da cidade e nunca na minha vida ví alguém desmanchar um chevette abandonado no meio da rua, totalmente random, também nunca vi ninguém descer armado em bar de playboy… Óbvio foi tudo muito bem atuado, mas agora fico pensando que talvez aqueles documentários que vemos de qualquer lugar “exótico pra gringo” tenham cenas assim pra reforçar de leve os esteriótipos 😂😂

This is the best portrait of Minas and Belo Horizonte I've ever seen by a foreigner. It captures the essence of Minas and Brazil beautifully, including the crazy situation with the armed car guy and the car at the end which is also very Brazilian. :)

I would definitely replace the Tim Maia (Do Leme Ao Pontal) very carioca song with something more representative of Minas. My recommendation would be "Maria Maria" by Milton Nascimento, but they could easily choose from his work, as well as that of Lo Borges and the Clube da Esquina, or even more "recent" artists like Skank, Pato Fu, and many others.

Nonetheless, it’s a fantastic achievement in capturing the mineiro spirit. I have great respect and appreciation for everyone involved on this work. Awesome job!

The african-brazilian chef was a nice person but she was grossly mistaken about the african influence. Is roughly 30%, alongside with what came from the indigenous people and europeans. Also, feijoada is not an african dish, is derived from the french cassoulet.

I went to glouton with my mom and we are not people who usually go to high end cuisine spots so we were a bit uneasy but everyone was NEXT level nice a couple even sat at our table to chat and know more about us. Ten years later we still talk about how welcoming the people of BH were.

Anthony Bourdain is a class act. It's hard to talk of him in the past tense, so he is a class act. The influence of the black people on Brazilian culture is great, but they are yet to find representation in the right places, and that is sad. I just hope things will change for the better.

Kiwi here. I Had never heard of Belo before going to Brazil for the 2014 World Cup. But I I’ll never forget it now. Such lovely people and the food yes is amazing. I was invited after attending a game at the stadium to a persons home for a bbq and to watch the Brazil match at their home later that day. All the family and neighbours were there and the hospitality and experience was amazing. Brazil drew with Mexico unfortunately , but the bbq, beers and Cachaça flowed into the early hours of the next day . Brazil is a beautiful country on the whole and will forever hold my heart. 🇧🇷❤

My born city, Montes Claros, on the north of minas, is well known as the world capital of pequi. Glad to see anthony tasting our flauvours. Greetings from BH !
