I think this is, arguably the most brilliantly played, decisive-set tie-break, in a big final, between the greatest generational rivals, that I've ever seen. Alcaraz characteristic clutch-ability looks equal to, and may even be superior to, the Great Ice Borg and God Laver!

This is exactly what Sinner, Zverev, current Novak etc No one on the planet has. That ability to be absolutely unplayable. Novak had it in his prime in those 2011 and 2015 years. Rafa on Clay. Roger 05 and 06. Carlos has it. But it’s not consistent. But when he turns it on… no man in Tennis history from ANY ERA can beat him. It’s just so rare for him to turn it on.

But when it’s on. Doesn’t matter who you are. GOAT or Undefeated World No.1. You cannot beat him. Was this the tiebreak that Carlos cheated by changing his shoes, laces and socks which I have never seen allowed before in a tiebreak.He took himself a nice rest, what a cheat he is on court. No morals at all.

Probably the most epic final I’ve ever seen! Unfortunately, sinner lost that when he couldn’t convert the three championship points. I knew it was over at that juncture. Still amazing effort by both players

Sinner will not last long (a few years more, at best), due to his bad back and bad ankles. The first injury will interrupt his tennis career forever.
Alcaraz, however, has a healthy body, but leans toward an oversized body-builder for a tennis player. Nadal, out of the three in his generation, was a similar example how an over-physical tennis player is pushed into spending a decade playing under pain-killers. Carlito's great tennis instincts do not match his intellectual abilities though.

Turns out this was the prequel to RG 2025.

Shockingly good tennis. McEnroe just said either of these guys, you could make an argument, would beat Nadal at his best at Roland Garros' final (after Alc beat Sinner in 5 close sets). I believe it's possible, as much as I love Nadal. These two might have an extra 2-3% over "best Nadal".
