Yes. Airpower prepared some delicious omelettes.
That happens when the management order the engineers to break the laws of physics. Few million dollars later, they tested the prototypes, and the laws didn't budge. Feeding more than 10 W with the coils slightly misaligned, the system required liquid cooling.
It seems that the iPhone will keep having a charging port, against the wishes and the dreams of Apple management...

Magsafe seems to have somewhat solved this.
