Trogly, you could repair the marred post threads using a thread chasing die. They are boogered up, but I think a tap & die set could cure it.
ОтветитьOr Sean at Scar my Guitar can fix that. Everyone please visit Scar my Guitar also, Trogly knows him and he and Cathy are good people 👍
ОтветитьThats one of the nicest humbucking cleans.
ОтветитьI have a Nikki Sixx Blackbird Gibson Bass I'd like to sell... Anyone can tell me how much this could sell for?
ОтветитьThat serial number stamp and "MADE IN USA" lettering looks fake, though. You might have bought a Chibson...😂😅
ОтветитьI have a 1981 explorer in white. The funny bit us the serial number is in a much smaller font than this one and it doesn't have a Made In The USA stamp.
ОтветитьCHECK OUT THE STRAP BUTTONS. TROG TOOK THEM OFF FOR HIS "PARTS DRAWER "PARTS DRAWER"
ОтветитьTrog you haven't documented a PRS in a long time. A wood library would be dope.
ОтветитьJust a swap ! Not this explorer plus cash???
ОтветитьI’m surprised someone hasn’t tried to make a guitar with the wood from Jesus’s cross 🫤
ОтветитьLiked the Cthulhu
ОтветитьI have an 83 Karina Custom shop, great guitar.
ОтветитьTROGG!!
ОтветитьI bought my Explorer in '81. It's E2 curly maple in tobacco burst. Gigged through the 80s with it and still have it today. It needs work though.
ОтветитьWhat a waste , that explorer should be with a real player. Creeo
ОтветитьBig bodies but they sit just right and are comfortable to play. Cool
ОтветитьThat guitar has the sound palette of a winner.
ОтветитьBlack bonnets!
ОтветитьI've got an 83 that plays and sounds great, but was beat to hell when I got it. Those marks where your arm rest are bracelets from a glam metal player.
ОтветитьCongrats ! This guitar sounds badass ! Awesome guitar
ОтветитьLooks great!
ОтветитьThat black explorer looks proper. No custom shop relicing required.
ОтветитьI have a 1985 Explorer, ebony finish, lots of finish checking, chrome hardware, no pickguard, uncovered pickups so I suppose it's a 'Stripped down' model but it has an ebony fingerboard rather than rosewood. No case, so it's really knocked about. Oh, and it's lefthanded.
ОтветитьMaan this explorer looks cool
ОтветитьWow! No wonder that’s a well used guitar… it has an incredible sound! One of the best you’ve ever demoed.
ОтветитьI'd go black bonnets. \m/
ОтветитьI have to say, Trogly, that I'll never understand anyone who buys a Gibson guitar and mistreats it so badly. I'm looking at my 1979 Les Paul right now and it looks as good as when I bought it then. And I've gigged it many times. Who are these people that don't take care of such quality guitars???
ОтветитьI would call this a well used, but not abused guitar. Looks to be in pretty good condition for a 48 year old guitar to me..Also really like the look of the rosewood fretboard.
ОтветитьNearly breaking out into New Gold Dream 😂
ОтветитьGuitar sounds knarly. I like explorers, and I recently got a epiphone warhorse. It sounds good with those gibson pickups. I'd like a gibson but I need more money.
ОтветитьIf I thought I could match the price you were asking, Trogly, and I thought I was going to play it and not just let it take up space, I would consider being the purchaser of that Explorer. It sounded great to me. For whatever it's worth, I think I could pick up the residents of it with the volume switched all the way off, even on my phone speaker.
ОтветитьThat is like the two white Explorers Matthias Jabs bought back in that days. Just a black example.
ОтветитьIs the intro music in a different key or am I hearing things?
ОтветитьMy birth year and she still sings, wish I could afford it..
ОтветитьI want it.please have a giveaway. Power to the people,!
ОтветитьI would bevel that pickguard
I like it
👍👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьHad to wait till after the Guardians game to tune in. Post season baseball only comes ones a year hahaha
Ответитьgreat player explorer
ОтветитьWhat happened to the gold Posi-Loks that were on the guitar early on in the video?!
ОтветитьEvening Troglodytes!!!
ОтветитьOH hey Great Score!!!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьA tap n die kit wil fix the bridge posts!!!! Its very easy!!! If your affraid to do it give to Pete down at the Texas guitar show this weekend. We will do it and send it back to you!!!! Sadly Gibson did a few questionable things at this time. We ordered in some more Heritage series Explorers and Flying V.s They were using the D serial numbers than a few G serial numbers came in too. Still called Heritage which way more money than a regular Explorer. Anyway i opened it up and after close examination it wasn't korina aka African Limba wood it was Mahogany. One in White, one in Black The Flying V in Candy Apple however was in Korina wood. Any of these are marketed Korina Heritage series and you get past the C serial numbers. I would make darn sure it was what i thought it was!!!!! The New Heritage series was a fun fresh attempt to get back to doing things the old way!!!
I believe they did a phenomenal job once they introduced the Historic series!!!!! SO SPOT ON!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for another great show Trog stay well God Bless peace
ОтветитьSick, sick, sick, that would be such a keeper to me. All about it is cool. Not like another boring les paul.
ОтветитьThat is the NICEST one I can remember seeing...of all of them. The gold hardware on the black is quite a cool visual. One thing I will point out is that the intonation seems to be pretty close to perfect, as exampled when you played your first open chords at the beginning of the playing demo. Nice clean up. YOU take care.
ОтветитьI went to the GC in Agusta and pulled a used Explorer off the wall and I loved it. Within 2 weeks of that day I had bought a Custom Shop 3 pickup SG, the Explorer, and a Fender Amp! All on zero interest with my GCCC! Then I got $430 worth of store credit for using the GCCC and I got an Epiphone NightHawk for free! 😁 By the way, the SG was marked down from $5,999 to $3499!
