An amazing presentation and mix of intimate model building tools intertwined with over the top woodworking machinery. Too funny seeing an 8” Powermatic jointer sitting anonymously tucked into a corner waiting for a board to flatten! Few of your model maker viewers probably notice the 10” Powermatic cabinet saw taking center stage in your shop. I’ve always kept two of my passions, woodworking and model building in separate spaces. You’ve given me food for thought in that regard.
ОтветитьI know you keep your shop very clean. How do you keep the dust of our hobby down?
ОтветитьBill buddy, I'm so happy to have come across your channel. Thank you for being an inspiration. Have a great day.
ОтветитьIt's like a wizard's laboratory! I love the aesthetic. Your shop is shockingly clean considering the fact that you have some real dust makers in there! I saw your Jet dust extractor, but I didn't see a dust collection system plumbed in, I'm amazed at how clean it all is. Especially since you have so many items displayed that would just be complete dust traps. My woodshop is shared with my woodworking partner who is also my neighbor, its in his garage, we constantly battle dust! Hats off to you. My 3D printing and model area is in my basement and completely separate from my dustier hobby, yet I still fight dust and it's just from sanding model parts.
ОтветитьI started following after you were on the Plast Posse Podcast. And wow, what a great shop, it's incredibly immersive for lack of a better term. Like a 1:1 box diorama almost and what a ton of stuff you have! Really great to watch and hear you walk us through with such pride. Cheers from Holland!
ОтветитьI love the magnifying glass setup on the wall map .So much to take in. So cool Bill. I love it!!!
ОтветитьDid I see a Guillotine near the wall map ?
ОтветитьIt's hard to take it all in with a quick run-through. I will have more questions. Many more.
ОтветитьVery professional. Obviously a lot of planning and resources went into this environment, not to mention a heck of a lot of talent.
ОтветитьI watch this video everyday. Have a great week.
ОтветитьWhat a great place, someday hopefully I'll have my own workshop.
ОтветитьYour a very talented craftsman. Beautiful work. You have created to me museum quality pieces. Awesome shop. Thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьAmazing. So much to unpack in your workspace (and drool over)
ОтветитьExcellent love it love the long boat to the left of your office door love to see it closer
ОтветитьThis is so cool....I'm 47 and just started my "Old Man Quiet Area", or area of max frustration working on a project, same thing. Awesome man, I can't wait to complete my planned living/shop/dog house area.
ОтветитьI always like a shop where it's fun to hang out in. Sometimes when we have company over to our house half the people are downstairs in my shop. It's either there or the kitchen. Shops are made to share with friends.
ОтветитьWow, this is the first time to your channel, and because of this tour I definitely subscribed.
I'm interested in knowing more about the Grey articulated arm light up in the top corner. I would like to build something similar.
Simply AMAZING
I Found this while just cruising the internet. I appreciate your explanation of "why and how" you do things. I agree, get a thought of something, you create it in your mind and start building! Me too the challenge and reward is getting that thought into a finished creation.. We get to be children in charge of ourselves... What is the physical size of your building? It's like living in a warm hug!!
Thanks for sharing!
Steve
What a wonderful inspiring space you have created for yourself, I have a lot of admiration for what you create with the precision and details, I can imagine that you are not going on holiday, I could also stay in your space for hours and days without feeling a single thing. moment to be bored. Everything looks very neat, which shows that you cherish everything you create. I recently moved and have been doing model making for ten years and am now working on redecorating my hobby room. In any case, I have enough inspiration. Thank you for your great video and for sharing your story. awesome.
ОтветитьIt's really great when you actually have space to work.. And being able to work on a few projects with out having everything stacked up on each other is key . Very nice set up you have for yourself... 👍 Appreciate you sharing your Man Palace with us... It's gives the rest of us hope and something to dream about.
ОтветитьThat's a great workshop, I love it. I have a dedicated workshop as well, not as elaborate just a big room. One thing I found out more than once is that using wood working tools in a shop with metal and plastic model building areas just doesn't work out. Doesn't matter how good your dust collection system is. I'd like to know how you handle that.
ОтветитьI come back to this video every couple months. It reminds me of my dad’s shop growing up. Love everything about it
ОтветитьNow I know how Heaven looks..
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьWhat an incredible work area Bill! Lots of inspiration to be found anywhere you look!
ОтветитьBill, great shop, I'm so envious!! I have a small shop that is divided into clean and dirty areas of work, but have a real hard time keeping the dust where it's supposed to be! How do you tackle the dust problem with all the woodwork you seem to do?
Ответитьso nice
ОтветитьI absolutely love the layout and utility of your shop.
I keep my modeling/painting studio apart from my woodworking shop because of the amounts of dust is crazy.
Wow. So much stuff in there…but also, in its own way, clean & tidy. “I build things because I I think that it’s interesting”. Well we’re on the same page there but your skills are on another level. Many thanks for this look around. My facilities are far more limited but this is inspiring 👍👍👍
ОтветитьLooking at your shop, and hearing your words...I swear, somehow, we're related. I love seeing the Argo/Yamato and the Mach 5 in your office. Yep. Cosmic brothers. Cheers!
ОтветитьLove it!! That's been my own vision for a model workshop for a while now. I'm going to buy one of those pre-fabricated "sheds" this spring, a 20' x 40' size, and turn it into a model workshop. Going to be a lot of work to get it to where it's ready for "move-in", but it will be awesome. Thanks for posting this inspirational video.
ОтветитьWhat I would give to have an entire mini house for my scale modeling
ОтветитьWhat a fantastic workshop, very well equipped, organised and extremely tidy. I could spend the rest of my life in it. Congratulations.
ОтветитьDam.... I hear ya!
ОтветитьThe Dream
ОтветитьVery fantastic workshop. Thank you for sharing ❤
ОтветитьGreat workshop. How on Earth do you keep it that clean and get anything done? My workshop is like a medieval dungeon.
ОтветитьHey Bill, it was great meeting you at the IPMS show and seeing your work up close! Oh wow, I am in love with this workshop you've built for yourself! Every nook and cranny is beautiful.
ОтветитьI have only just found your channel, but after seeing this video I have immediately subscribed.
I have never suffered from jealousy - clothes, cars, boyfriend's, houses, jewellery, fame or fortune. None of it has ever made me feel envious in any way .....
Up until now.
What's the chances of you willing me that entire building after your death ? All the contents included, and I don't care how much it costs, I will cover the building in shrink wrap and lift it off its base and import it to me here in England. I would even take care of and love the cat, and I promise to bow down to an effigy of you every day and praise your genius !
It's the most amazing, beautiful workshop I have ever seen. It's the kind of place I would just love to spend a week looking in all the nooks and cranies, the cupboards, the little boxes and drawers, examining everything, the tools, the books, the models, and then just sitting in there and smiling contendedly.
You have created a modelers Nirvana.
Any chance of doing a video on all the books you have in there please ?
P.S. What's the cats name and age ?
A man`s house is his castle. A man`s shed is his sanctuary! Stay inspired, stay challenged and THRIVE ON!!! Thank you for sharing your room full of ideas...
ОтветитьYou've built a lot of very cool stuff, but how long does it take you to dust it all?
ОтветитьMan…. after seeing this my shop sucks.
ОтветитьDude, awesome shop! I would be a hermit. Congrats!
ОтветитьAbsolutely amazing
ОтветитьIt reminds of Adam Savages shop. Incredible setup! Definitely a dream of mine to have something like that.
Ответитьwhat a dream workshop! Im glad i found your channel :))
ОтветитьNeat place😊
ОтветитьVery nice indeed
ОтветитьI love my shop and thought I would show it to you. It's just perfect for me, because it's always changing to keep up with new techniques, or materials or even entire crafts that I am learning as I am constantly trying new things!!! I hope you enjoy it and please tell me about your dream workshop!!! Take Care, Bill
