RARE CARS: An Inside Look of The 1963 Warrior I | One of One!

Built by Vanguard Industries in Texas, the 1963 Warrior I was an incredibly well thought out and built sports car, even if they only built the one. As advertised by Vanguard:

"WARRIOR I, with its 95-5⁄8" wheel base, 154-1/2" overall length, fills the void in the low price sports car range. The All American WARRIOR I will generate new volume for any dealership regardless of present franchise affiliations. WARRIOR I, from its very inception was created NOT to compete in sales with any American Made car, but rather to accommodate a heretofore untapped market all its own."

Ultimately, the effort required to build just this one car to the level it was constructed was a lot to try and replicate for a reasonably priced offering so Vanguard moved on to another, existing venture. Taking the remaining Apollo GT bodies and rebreeding them as the Vetta Ventura.
