this is so inspiring! i bought the game immediately
ОтветитьHey, the story of you two made me so happy. It's inspiring... It inspired me too. Thank you and good luck for you both!
ОтветитьThis was such a beautiful and inspiring story— I'm so glad I found your channel! I'm on a similar path, recently deciding to use my art skills, learn some Unity programming to bring some game ideas to life. Your journey really motivates me!. I’d love to offer my artistic skills to support Nessie Games growth and to learn and gain experience alongside amazing creators like you..
Congrats again on everything you’re achieving — you deserve way more!
Happy for you both, Well done!
ОтветитьGame dev ASMR exists 😄 This video is pure cuteness! Following, for sure.
Can you share which tools did Steven use to develop the game? Some engine, which language, etc.?
Soo lovely! Liked the video a lot
Ответитьif you can do mit ocw 18.01, 18.02, 18.03, 18.05, 18.06 then not taking higher education is okay with you.
otherwise your brain needs proper training on studying and understanding complicated and abstract knowledge.
then you will feel that everything is just super easy and you have build the confidence for life time
china and japan will never achieve what america has achieved,
because they are soo dedicated to the formal education sys, which i have passed and got my undergraduate diploma.
there is no education there, what the teachers are doing is reading ppt or the textbooks, nothing else
This was super encouraging to watch. I've been working really hard on my first full project for the past 5 months, and even though I've shared some early prototypes before, this is my first serious attempt at a full release. Seeing how you made $28K in your first month — even without heavy marketing — really gives me some hope. I'm still a little worried about putting in all this time and ending up with nothing, but videos like this make it feel more possible. Thanks for sharing your experience — it really helps developers like me stay motivated! 🙏 (I also posted a short clip of my game-in-progress if anyone's curious.). There's a long way to go, but I have my eyes on the prize!
ОтветитьO yea! I'm gona check in checkout! 😂
ОтветитьSheesh. I need to find a woman who’s creative like that. The collaborations would be epic.
ОтветитьI love this. Such a cozy video. Very informative from an actual small group. Ty for all the info
Ответитьthis was very inspiring and answered a few of the questions i had about myself. thank you for sharing!
ОтветитьWhen I got my first web developer job as a fresh faced comp sci major, i told a senior colleague that i really wanted to dev games, he told me that game devs are worked the hardest and get paid the least... Now im trying to dame dev as a passion project, thank you fornyour story
ОтветитьYou guys are so heartwarming. I wish you all the best of luck on your way and your game-design journey.)
ОтветитьEven this video is cosy ;)
Ответитьi love your story. i'm a professional game dev, recently retired, and have been lucky to be involved in almost not stop huge blockbuster games and successes, but yours is the first story I have found moving. i'm super proud of you. your game looks really cute. i love that you did it together and battled adversity. you have all my respect!
Ответить2 more redeeming qualities: humility and nice hair... i'm sure to notice more...
ОтветитьBravo for the both of you!!!
ОтветитьGreat video
ОтветитьKeep in mind that you say "to get a degree". He has an associate's degree. So he has one. I just wanted to mention that as a university advisor because associate's degrees aren't lesser, per se.
ОтветитьI'm enjoying your video, I find you and your story to be very interesting. I have an idea for a game based on my area of work, but I have zero game creation experience.
I do wish you'd not put music over your speech. I find it hard to listen to the music and to you at the same time.
Your words are interesting enough, you don't need music to make the video interesting. You yourself are the interesting part of it.
You've achieved so much, with your degree in Japanese, your husband too. I do really congratulate you both and wish you both, nothing but the best.
Congratulations on your first success, already shared the game with my fiancée since it seems right up her alley! Would you be open to getting some help on the marketing side of things for your future projects? Not looking to charge you anything, would just like to share a couple of strategies I've picked up over the past decade as a marketer in case it'd be helpful to you and Steve! Let me know if you'd be interested and how best to reach you 🙏
ОтветитьVery inspiring!
ОтветитьSuch a cute story! 🎉 I really enjoyed this video and I'll check out the game. Please read John 14:1-7:
John 14:1-6 NIV
[1] “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God ; believe also in me. [2] My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? [3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. [4] You know the way to the place where I am going.” [5] Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” [6] Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
It changed my life to know Jesus is the only Way. God bless yall in Jesus's Name!
Hi Michelle! While I can't play Checkout (yet, I hope you and Steve are planning to launch for MacOS soon!), I'm subscribed for this video alone! You're a natural marketer just by the way you tell your story on your journey with Steve, and I'm sure Nessie Games will get the recognition it deserves in coming months!
Happy to have found you guys and I'll definitely get my hands on Checkout once I got a PC!
Sometimes being unable to get a job is the start of a great adventure.
Ответитьjust discovered and bought immediately. thank you!
ОтветитьThis is so cool
ОтветитьHello, I really love your video. Would it be possible for me to make a Questions and Answers video about your experience in making this game? I am very interested in both you, and your husbands experience, both from a technical and non technical angle. I make how-to videos for beginners. I think beginners, myself included, would love to know more.
ОтветитьIve got adhd n no patience. Can someone tell me how much they made
ОтветитьYour storytelling captivated the audience and fully engaged them with the video. No doubt, your game made this possible; it's due to your and your husband's combined efforts that brought it to this point. Congrats!
ОтветитьCongrats! How did you decide on the price point of the game?
Did you just pick a number that is ''not too much'' and ''not too little''?
Keep up the great work your game look very cute and fun <3!!!
ОтветитьActually i want to start with my 2d game project can you give me some suggestions please .
...
nice video. Congratulations on your first indie game! Thanks for the numbers as well. I hope you can make more in the future
I'm also working as game dev in Japan. But in an Indie studio in Tokyo around 25 people I think. I was also thinking of trying to do more my own thing but want to learn a bit more first and chip away slowly at it. I've been doing 3D and especially environment art for like 15+ years now so I tried getting into Unreals Blueprints for coding and animations etc. things I don't know much about. It's fun but challenging.
Happy for you guys and thank you for sharing your story. I hope your future endeavors bring more success and financial freedom to continue to pursue your game dev. Rooting for you all.
ОтветитьI love this so much I am crying for your success congrats!!!
ОтветитьI'm thanking the Cozy Games Gods for bringing this video to me! Can't wait to play it on my stream sometime. It looks really cute and cozy, and I can tell you guys put a lot of love into it!
ОтветитьFantastic to see how well this went! I'll subscribe and see what you're up to next.
ОтветитьCongrats to both of you 👏 best of luck with future endeavors
ОтветитьCute. GL in the future.
ОтветитьJust a question about the dev of this game, what was the engine your used and what digital art program did you use to generate and build your assets?
ОтветитьThis is amazing! What tech stack did y’all use to build this? Any particularly hard skills (programming language, graphic design, etc)?
ОтветитьOh love this! And you are right, marketing is quite a thing to take care of when you are deep into development,. We can relate. Really glad it worked out though! Beating the odds is always great 😁We subscribed! Congratulations on the good reception!
ОтветитьWhat software did you use to make the game? And the pixel art?
ОтветитьCongrats!
ОтветитьA really sweet story. Congrats :)
ОтветитьAo sweet and supportive couple
ОтветитьDid Japan help you for you indie game? did Japan give you work as game dev?
Ответить
