1st Drive New BMW M5 G90 727HP M Hybrid | 4k

So this new M5 has less HP per tonn and more than 400 kg more weight. I would rather go for F90. This new one makes no sense.

The ‘angel eyes’ have devolved in several stages from a circle to what is now essentially a chunky line with small kink in it. I guess the next iteration will be a dot.

This thing is going to go through brake pads and tires like crazy. A performance sedan that weighs as much as an SUV is nuts

The looks, the weight, the performance downgrade, the dang price for that matter... If BMW was a person and a friend of mine, I'd assume he's doing some funky drugs while going through a midlife crisis.

If it had no batteries, I would be interested.

That M5 fell out the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. The launch of this new one will halt the price collapse of the outgoing M5 as people will want the outgoing car, which is pretty annoying as I am trying to buy one.

I don't want to criticize either the weight, the hybrid system, or the technical reasons why it has to be designed this way. I just want to say that Demagoj Dukec is totally incompetent. He is not a designer worthy of handling projects like an M5. It's hard to design such a horrendous car when coming from the most beautiful one ever.

don't like it, not worth the money. red interior is like yeah so yesterday. the lights around the grill are just hoakey. where you think we come from the hills? the sides are flat and lifeless. the plugin cover is 1/4 the size of the car. BMW has not doine well with this car not very well at all.

Very good advise .. bring the M5 with 305 km/h / 189 mph to the german autobahn. Totally irresponsible to advise anyone to run with immense high speed on a public road with semitrucks, families in vans and sometimes really bad bumps in the pavement. You maybe not know, but on the autobahn - when there is no speed limit (very often around 100-120 km/h / 62-24 mph) - there is a recommended speed target of 130 km/h / 81 mph. So it would be great, if you advise your viewers to take this performance car to a proper circuit like the german iconic Nürburgring Nordschleife.

I had a ninja 650 twin cylinder with performance pack and it accelerated the same as this 100-200. Really cars are not fast if you want fast get a motorbike

From what I've read and from my understanding of what makes a car handle good, the extra weight being the batteries under the floor actually helps with the way it drives. The batteries significantly lower the center of gravity making the car feel more planted and more confidence inspiring to the driver. Now if they could figure out how to get the weight back down while keeping the batteries and the center of gravity low, it be a millions times better of a car. It's still a boat after all.

BMW needs to prioritize replacing their design staff. Fat AND ugly has never sold well.

I am not opposed to plug in, or EV, or alt fuel, or completely ICE. All flavors have their place. And I appreciate their unique flavor as an automotive.
But I do wish this trend of ever heavier cars stops, no matter which type of motor or fuel type is powering it. Besides light weight, I want them to engineer back the steering feel/feedback that they engineered out,all in name of improved tech. Today’s cars are far more numb and void of man to machine interactive connection.
I will hold my verdict on this car till I drive it. But for me the weight gain is a huge negative.

The usual suspect that show up for every new BMW M, demonizing it and then salivate over it. Every BMW they say is too heavy when the entire car industry mimic the 3 big European cars, learn weight and power ration and light weight metals distributed throughout the car for balance.

Surely that 2.5 tonnes is very noticeable in corners, especially on track??
