ОтветитьI don't want to criticize either the weight, the hybrid system, or the technical reasons why it has to be designed this way. I just want to say that Demagoj Dukec is totally incompetent. He is not a designer worthy of handling projects like an M5. It's hard to design such a horrendous car when coming from the most beautiful one ever.

Ответитьdon't like it, not worth the money. red interior is like yeah so yesterday. the lights around the grill are just hoakey. where you think we come from the hills? the sides are flat and lifeless. the plugin cover is 1/4 the size of the car. BMW has not doine well with this car not very well at all.

ОтветитьVery good advise .. bring the M5 with 305 km/h / 189 mph to the german autobahn. Totally irresponsible to advise anyone to run with immense high speed on a public road with semitrucks, families in vans and sometimes really bad bumps in the pavement. You maybe not know, but on the autobahn - when there is no speed limit (very often around 100-120 km/h / 62-24 mph) - there is a recommended speed target of 130 km/h / 81 mph. So it would be great, if you advise your viewers to take this performance car to a proper circuit like the german iconic Nürburgring Nordschleife.

ОтветитьFrom what I've read and from my understanding of what makes a car handle good, the extra weight being the batteries under the floor actually helps with the way it drives. The batteries significantly lower the center of gravity making the car feel more planted and more confidence inspiring to the driver. Now if they could figure out how to get the weight back down while keeping the batteries and the center of gravity low, it be a millions times better of a car. It's still a boat after all.

ОтветитьI am not opposed to plug in, or EV, or alt fuel, or completely ICE. All flavors have their place. And I appreciate their unique flavor as an automotive.
But I do wish this trend of ever heavier cars stops, no matter which type of motor or fuel type is powering it. Besides light weight, I want them to engineer back the steering feel/feedback that they engineered out,all in name of improved tech. Today’s cars are far more numb and void of man to machine interactive connection.
I will hold my verdict on this car till I drive it. But for me the weight gain is a huge negative.
