IS THE ENGINE VACUUM THAT THIS DIAGNOSTICS MEASURES REAL OR WHAT THE MAP MEASURES?

A big hello from the UK
I am really pleased to find this channel, its also nice to see the extended use of the ATS scan and scope, I have one but I know of nobody else local to me that does, Pico is big here which I also have, I love the power of the scope and how by using one makes you so much more sharper and knowledgeable, I am continuously learning thanks to using a scope and watching videos like yours.
keep up the great content I am looking forwards to many more from this vibrant new channel....
Btw: its nice to see and nice to see the ATS scope being shown as it was only Bernies videos that were exposing the power of it...
All the best guys
David (Sinclair Engineering)

Hey guys love from Australia 🇦🇺
The reason why you guys saw 4.756v max at live data was because the engine might not be running
And when you guys checked on scope the engine was running and the alternator was pumping voltage a little bit that's why it went over 4.8v
That's my logic

I had a dodge journey that set throttle body and accelerator pedal position codes. All wires checked out good to those items. The crankshaft sensor wires were shorted together causing those codes. I just used wiring schematics and volt meter to figure it out.

Jobs backing up that need diag I would have hooked up the scope and tried the tap test, tug test, wiggle test and look for drop outs while working the throttle before I drove the car it may have speeded up the process I wonder if the waveform would have went high? great video
👍

Why not just look at the scanner live data and see the sensor voltage from there, which you could also graph, instead of going through the trouble of connecting a bunch of scope wires?

I’m sold on the ATS system. It’s true and continues to prove itself true; scope data is vital to success. Notice how even the manufacturer scantool software could not precisely pinpoint the fault with streamed data - a voltage overage. Well done fellas!! 👍👍

Cool. Sensor two reads right in between the high and low specs with pedal fully depressed. Sensor one is just over max spec, but also fell right in between high and low specs when replaced. The code, the scope, and excellent reasoning all combined to form a diagnostic trifecta.

The sad thing is, you just proved that you can never have enough information available to diagnose vehicles and you need multiple types of scan/diagnostic equipment. I quit counting decades ago when I passed $100,000!😢 There needs to be a law that all manufacturers have to make available to alldata and mitchell all information so we can do our job without guessing.

Please give us more info on the scope you used. Does it only work on the ATS diagnostic scan tablet or would it also work on something like the higher end Topdon (Phoenix Plus) diagnostic scan tablet?

By the way, thanks for this legendary lesson. Love that you are teaching people how to do diagnostic work.

Thats a really bizarre fault. Looks like a ground fault and connecting the scope ground to battery terminal would miss this type of fault. But you had 2 ground traces (blue and white) on screen? So I guess you checked this at the ecu end. Only the manufacturers information pointed to the real fault. Having 2 throttle sensors is classy engineering, no single point failure allowed a safe limp mode.
