Going in 2023. Going to Denali. Not sure, but I haven't scene anything about the location. Do you have any info on this location. We're going on Holland America. Flying to Anchorage then to Denali by coach for 2 days then back to Whittier then on the ship!

One must for us was Glacier Bay; did not consider the itinerary if it was not included. If we go back may do different route but for our first it was a must see and it was more than worth it...

We are cruising on the Zuiderdam - I believe it is the last cruise of the season. Entirely due to timing as I need to be in Vancouver for work so we thought - why not? An older ship but we are looking forward to trying out HAL.

Sailing on the Ruby Princess Sept 7 to Alaska...my 8th time to Alaska. Last time I was in Icy Strait Point was years ago on Celebrity Infinity and they didn't even have a cruise port at the time...had to anchor and tender in. Excited to see how it is now.

My wife & I took a cruise tour (land/sea) on Sapphire Princess 10 years ago, and that would be my choice if we did it again. Looking at the selections being offered by Princess, I'd choose the Grand Princess over the Discovery Princess because the Royal class ships lack the outdoor deck area atop the bridge that the Sapphire and ships like it (e.g., the Grand) have. The bomb for glacier viewing and viewing the progress down the inside passage.

Princess does have the Alaska market down pat, and I understand that you recommend several of their ships. But I’m surprised that you’re recommending so many large ships for Alaska. To me, a smaller ship is a much better experience. We are headed to Alaska next week, and will be doing an overland and Seward to Vancouver cruise with Regent. I did see someone’s concern about the cost of Regent, but when you consider that they include airfare, transfers, all beverages, Wi-Fi, laundry, shore excursions, specialty dining and gratuities, with the largest entry level cabins at sea, it evens out quite a bit.

How do you feel after having taken 40 cruises? Do you feel more educated, enlightened or bored? Do you still enjoy it or are you ready for something different?

I was surprised to not see Carnival Splendor or Spirit from Seattle or Miracle from San Francisco as they were some of the most economical price wise

Can we book our own excursions off ship? We don't like booking through the cruiseline. We find we get more personal tours at better rates when we book things privately. Is that easy to do on Alaskan sailings?

Hello. I enjoyed this video. It was very informative. This will be my very 2nd cruise. The first was in a Norwegian small ship and I was sick most of the time. I need a big ship. My husband and I will be going in 2023 to Alaska. We are in our 60s. Two youngesters. Hahaha

We leave for our first Alaska cruise on the Discovery Princess in late May, We sailed on the Enchanted Princess in March. If you get a chance to sail on one of Princess's newest ships I highly recommend it!
