This is exactly what I needed to see right now. I am fascinating field -- such a very small part of time in short-term memory yet we know so little. I can't wait to learn more.

seriously? This guy is a as dry as my dad. not sure there is much to learn here rather it's a tribute to two peoples stiff egos and some cheeky debt twigs in a vase. how about talking about contemporary research into memory and attentions role in memory?

My executive attention network is telling me to go watch something else. Maybe a video about cats.

(Notes to myself) - to be checked/improved
Posner's theory of attention
- main discovery that fostered attention research: different flows of information in each year --> subjects could only attend to one source at a time --> what is this bottleneck that chooses what info to focus on?
- attention split into 3 systems:
1) general alertness (ACh level in brain?)
2) orienting (towards external signal)
3) executive system: allows to shift focus based on task in short memory (i.e. maintain attention when distracted) + involved in voluntary behavior
- interrupt a current action after an importanter event has been identified --> temporo-parietal junction (only in right hemisphere)
