Creator kits are pointless for me because I can just get cc that's the same or better for free
ОтветитьI think kits are pretty cool, but I barely ever buy any, because I already spent all my money on packs…
ОтветитьI'm a woman but guess, what? Half my sims are masculine sims. Isn't that weird? And I'd like to have nice clothes for them too. The base game clothes suck and the packs and kits clothes are often too niche. We are especially lacking in nightwear so yeah, patches are probably cool for other people, but I know for a fact I'm not going use them. I would rather have to more pjs for masculine sims. That one fuzzy pj looks very cool though.
I don't really download CC though because I can't be bothered to search for it, nor trusted to only download what I'm actually going to use. And then my game has too much stuff, and it gets overwhelming, but I can't remember from the file name which CC is what, so I end up deleting everything. Unfortunately I can't delete the shitty items that EA makes from my game, but I can opt out of CC to make CAS more manageable. OK, I admit, I DO have some CC for my historical save, and I'm already overwhelmed. Told ya.
Well I didn't purchase a CC pack yet. But I thought about it already, because I only play with my boyfriends computer every once in a while and I don't play SIMS regularly. I tried mods and CC but finally wasn't happy about it, because after a couple of weeks some of the mods and CC won't work anymore and then I'll have to reinstall and look for the mistake and it's just annoying. I want things to work and I don't want to spend too much time in fixing problems instead of playing ...
ОтветитьThe pajamas are so granny
ОтветитьDay 1 of telling Satch he's fit
ОтветитьI’m a PC player and I purchase kits verses CC. I do occasionally download mods or CC, but I prefer getting content directly from EA. I’m less concerned about accidentally downloading viruses or malware if I buy directly from me. Also, I think you’re right about the quality difference between EA made kits and CC. Sometimes the cc just doesn’t blend naturally with the rest of the assets that EA makes.
ОтветитьThey need to make an everyday menswear kit.
ОтветитьThey need to make an everyday menswear kit.
ОтветитьI want Sims 1 "the original Sims ' 🎉🎉🎉EA is wasting so much time and so much money (And robbing dedicated Sims players with broken content which years later they still haven't fixed smh) so much effort on wanting to make us play Sims 4 and I haven't played it in over a year why don't they bring out the original Sims and make some really good money because they know that us die hard from the beginning Sims player is going to buy it for 50 80 $100; for maybe 3 to 6 months a complete collection like the last thing was sold The Complete Collection pack you know upgraded a little bit but let us keep our robot, let us keep our food processor, those horrible faces and pink flamingos let us keep what we have and play Sims one the original Sims again on the EA app or whatever it is because
It all honesty that's what people want anyway That's why people like myself sit there and watch people who post the original Sims play on their channels
❤It's a thing
Love you
I've never bought a kit, I've only ever gotten them for free! And admittedly, I do use the items a LOT from the kits I do have. I've been tempted by the creator kits because I want to support them and also they have really good assets, but my dislike for EA motivates me to seek out similar stuff as free CC instead. I do think kits are great for providing really specific assets though! If only everything weren't so expensive... and also if only the game worked and didn't crash on me all the time...
ОтветитьI will say as a console player, I do appreciate kits since I cannot use CC. I'm still annoyed at the prices though, so I try to get them on sale. Also, on XBOX I have the option to always get packs on a little bit of a discount since I have the membership. It comes with game pass which allows certain games to be more accessible. Although I have not always been a console player, I used to play on PC but my graphics card doesn't work right so I can't play. I miss mods so much on console. The game is so boring without them.
ОтветитьAs a PC player I tend to only use CAS cc (I can't deal with EA's CAS stuff) since I want my gallery builds to be accesible to console as well.
ОтветитьCc is really intimidating. I use whicked whims, and it seems like i have to update it so often. It sucks especially bc i forget how to do it every time. But yeah whicked whims actually makes the game worth it to play. Like easilly the best part of playing…. Mayve im just a horn dog 🐶
ОтветитьThe reason I usually buy kits, instead of CC, is because I don't want to be bothered with all the updates from EA and then every time having to update my CC as well. I have done it, and it made me so frustrated every single time.
ОтветитьI also really like kits. I just like the stuff to decorate with. As a PC player I am too lazy to keep uninstalling and reinstalling cc every time we get an update. That's it. Laziness!
ОтветитьI think in EA’s statement, they said they would be giving anyone who purchased the last two kits for $10/£10 a full refund, and they could purchase the pack again for the normal price, so I think that’s why the game is saying you don’t own the packs anymore.
ОтветитьI’m playing on console and I have the same issues as when love struck came out at the moment. Romance is stuck and no one will woohoo.
I also can’t kill any sims.
Is this just me?
I actually prefer getting CC, what I don't like about cc is that it goes into my documents folder on my c-drive where I absolutely don't want them to go, but it doesn't appear to work otherwise. There were other issues as well, which I manages to get fixed, but not without disabling cloud service etc. Note: these are issues I never had to deal with, with the sims 3, where added content was far more easier to control. (not all EA's fault btw, but things did come together in a pretty bad way)
So, basically, that is why I had avoided cc for purchased packs for the longest time.
A few years back, however, I started to embrace CC more, which has one feature that I absolely love that EA seems to never want to give us. We can uninstall it super easy, or add it back again whenever. I download it and it's mine, with no BS. Get something crappy, away it goes. Need to make room, away it goes. Over all though, it delivers when it comes to things I want, vs whatever the heck we are being offered by the Sims team.
Hi from Canada,
I buy a kit it's just because I want everything 😅. But my go to his cc and love some mod to that add some stuff that ea do not think about🙈🙉🙊 because they jus like that even if a lot of pepole must tell them to go up in there creation and talk to the public more to know what we want. That EA for us. 🤷♀️
Ps: love your way of telling what you think don't change that 😊.
I think the issue regarding masculine clothing is that you may think it's easy to make, but it's not. Masculine fashion can be simple and that's the problem. Even cc creators don't make a lot of masculine clothing. There are different types of masculine fashion, but they're all really similar. When it comes to feminine fashion, it's way more diverse. As a woman or people who are feminine, we literally can wear anything. That makes it easier to create clothes for feminine people. We can wear overalls, sweats (joggers), leggings, skinny jeans, boot cut jeans, dresses, skirts, slacks, suits and everything else. It's the same with shoes. We can wear anything.
ОтветитьAs a PC player I don't buy a lot of kits because I have access to CC.
ОтветитьNo actually. As a console Simmer, I wish we had a way to download CC for free as well.
ОтветитьIt's weird they are so obsessed with item number because when you have a kit with a ltlot of small decorative objects and compare it to a kit with larger or more functional objects like the backyard camp kit it makes this new kit seem like it's not worth it. I also don't like kits that add in a buch of stuff we already have way too many versions of like a couch and armchair, instead of something we don't have enough of like a box/CTR TV or a new telescope.
ОтветитьI don't like these two, ironic because myshunosun is one of the better Maxis match CC creators out there. Also your capping if you think CC is higher quality than official content because 90% of the time that's very false.
ОтветитьDo men have a lot of real-life sleepwear where you live? Here are only a few, super bland and not-too-comfy pajamas for men. Women had much more choice in appealing sleepwear. They have more choices in clothes overall, but this is particularly noticeable in sleepwear.
ОтветитьThey deffinitely should do 1, better 2, kits as male fashion stuff. Is so f... hard to dress proper male sims without using couple of things on repeat.
ОтветитьFrom what I understand the creators were paid a similar amount that in the past EA has given to simmers who build lots that are used in packs; amount unknown. However, they only get additional portion of the sale of each kit if you use their creator codes during checkout and that amount was revealed to be only 25¢ according to simmers within the creator network. In my opinion based on what was revealed, definitely not enough or what we would hope that these creators would receive but they've clearly accepted the terms so perhaps the initial payment was substantial? I am planning to purchase the buildmode kit the irony is the cc kits were so us console players could get a taste of what pc players have been enjoying throughout the years; however, during the purchase process we can't use creator codes during checkout so these creators won't receive the commission from console sales.
Ответитьwait so you were over priced for the kit and now they have removed the kit from your game? I hope you were reimbursed!!
ОтветитьI don’t care who makes them, I will NOT buy any CASH GRAB Kids LOL
ОтветитьI LOVE build kits. Not sure how I feel about this one, though. It seems like the creator had a vision for a kitschy home or room and had to cut what they wanted to add in half. And no styled room...? CAS kits imo have always been a flop specifically due to the restrictions that EA presumably puts onto their creators. Having someone offer their time as a well-known custom content creator to make something for you at the bare minimum price and then having them create three swatches for pimple patches is absolutely ridiculous. I really hope that's at the fault of EA and not the creator, because there's no reason we should get NOTHING of substance for children, toddlers, or male sims. These just feel like a way for EA to be like "look we like our fan creators, too!" and then just hope everyone turns a blind eye.
ОтветитьI feel like if you want to support creators give to them directly- many have patreon or kofi. I remember a while ago ppl were mad some cc creators paywalled their content so why is it ok when EA does it? If they fully created the content why should I pay EA? EA continues to put out lazy content because ppl continue to buy it
ОтветитьI'm sure you'll change your tune when EA offers you money to make one
ОтветитьI remember the one kit modern luxe kit the modder they partnered with I asked if she had gotten any profit from anyone buying the kit and she said no. The reason I don’t support any of it because modders do their mods for free for pc and when they partner with them they don’t even get a cut from it will never sit right with me, especially when everything is literally cash grabs as is when they break off every little thing as a separate pack so they could get more money
ОтветитьAs a long time console player (4000+ hrs) I am so happy that they’re doing the cc kits, these first 2 ones definitely are missing things but the idea as a whole is genuinely so great for me.
ОтветитьI like to buy on Instant Gaming but it's also important to be careful with this website because the prices don't include the taxes and you can have bank charges bonus coming a few days after your purchase. I made the mistake to buy L&D on their website to save something like 2€ at the end and I didn't get the pre-purchase content so... it's not always worth it. As for the kits they are even more expensive on their website than on the EA app, but for the rest as long you have at least a 50% reduction I would say it's okay.
Also I'm a PC player who doesn't use CC, mainly because I like to share my builds on the gallery and I want to be sure everybody can play with those without having missing items, at least with official contents I know people can have access to the same items as me.
The lack of male clothing is definitely an issue. And the menswear kit we got is too high end for me to use. The only really usable clothing items are the sweaters.
I’d love more accessories too, like watches, medical bracelets, school rings, more masculine rings in general, wool socks, etc.
To answer your question on why I would buy a creator kit instead of free CC:
- it's already compatible with everything in-game. E.g. There are (usually) no errors with shading, it's at least 90% maxis match...
- it's usually safer because you get it from a verified source
- I don't like going into sims folders myself, having to reupload them once in a while or being bound to too much clutter that I don't need
- Not every creator creates great thumbnails/descriptions which makes it more difficult to navigate between all different items/creators
- It's not gallery compatible: even if you're interested in getting something of the gallery, you don't have a clear system on which items are used by a creator
HeyHarrie is one of the few creators I trust 100% and ticks every box. But even then I don't usually use her items in every single game.
That being said, I do agree that it's cash grabby & their idea of how many items should be in a pack is way too narrow. But it's too late. If they had 12 items in the past, I wouldn't see it increasing to 25 items in the future. Otherwise people will complain about previous kits. Just as TheDawnofVanlife mentioned.
It's $0.35 per sale BUT you HAVE to purchase them separately so you can use their creator code. If you buy them together you can only use one code and only one person gets paid for their kit. They were also paid a lump sum according to lil simsie
ОтветитьAlthough this is a silly way to look at it, I find myself getting kits instead of CC because of the sheer amount of CC available. Like I find it ovewhelming to choose - if I start downloading CC, where do I stop? Kits provide a little extra stuff in a controlled quantity 😅
ОтветитьCheck your bank statement. I have seen at other creators, who purchased kits each for 10$, they were refunded and had to purchase the kit again. I am a pc player and I have addiction. I just want to have it all 😂🤣
ОтветитьPersonally I play sims on a PC and in the past when I played sims 3 I would download so much CC that later it was just difficult to see which ones are not working and to get rid of some while having thousands of them already installed was nearly impossible... so with the sims 4 I wanted to avoid that problem especially that some CC doesn't work and you get sims walking around bold or naked or you remove some files and then your entire house is empty... so I prefer EA content but I dont buy every single thing the release because its too expensive and I dont want to buy a pack just because it comes with a nice kitchen set 😂 to me sims is a simulation game and I look fit gameplay not assets... I do own some CC though but its really high quality and the kind of one that isn't broken, I learned to structure my files better but for the comfort and I prefer buying
ОтветитьIt deffffffinitely feels like EA is just trying to insert themselves into prominent CC creators' early access Patreon tiers or something. Granted, I have no idea what they are paying the creators, but it just seems like EA want their name/hands on CC creations that may already be making decent money- while also putting restrictions on how many items a kit can have so that they can sell tons of them at 5$ a piece. They want to sell a bunch of kits, with as few assets as they can so there is future potential for more kits.
Also, if they are receiving commission pay, the more creators that they incorporate in this practice of outsourcing / completely doing EA's job in creating assets, the less potential profit each individual creator would have due to a greater saturation of "kit options" that individually offer only ~10 items. I dunno. They should have just permanently hired some CC creators or something.
I always thought that EA could learn from microsoft/ mojang/ minecraft. it took them so many years to make merchandise and creators kits are finally what minecraft apps are for bedrock players. its basically mods but for console players.
ОтветитьWhile I was watching lilsimsies stream she was discussing that the creators didn’t get commissions just a lump sum from ea but I obviously cannot be 100% sure
ОтветитьCc is difficult to manage. I still prefer cc over kits though. I'm so over the cash grab but nothing to show for it way that EA has gone.
Ответитьi remember plumbella saying she got payed only for the idea of her kit, not percent from sales(but she didn’t actually make the meshes)
also, ea themselves don’t put much of a male cast stuff, they can’t be bothered to control it in other’s kits loll
satch got that shit on
ОтветитьHi, guys. I am comeback again! I always make my male Sims sleep without their tops and only wear pants. Meanwhile, the female Sims wear very revealing clothes.
