My dad bought new Buick Riviera every 2/3 years. In '73 he had the same setup Stage 1, 3.23:1 limited slip with Max-Trac. It worked quite well during snow. But, he was always putting it in the "OFF" position. His came with a hole in the roof. He didn't order it but, every thing he did order came with the car. @1st, we didn't know what the 3lil lites on both front fenders were. Lamp monitors. He had the 60/40 power bench seat, & column shifter. I was barely a teenager, & with all the available adjustments (tilt steering) I learned how to drive. The boat tail was reduced but, still nice. I know for a fact them Riviera GS Stage 1 kicked alot of so-called muscle cars of that era. Thanks for the memories.
Ответитьmy buddy had one of these.. ran 15.5's... 14's must be doctord
ОтветитьAs 1977 came rolling in, with Star Wars playing at the drive-in theater's you couldn't go to a custom car show without seeing 3-4 of these Riviera's suspended on chrome jack stands.
ОтветитьAll this from the luxury of a giant leather couch
Plus the trunk sleeps 4
That Rivi sounds good 👍
Ответить455 with a smog pump now that is stock, I'm pleased to see a pure stock with original equipment, and at 14.7 that is a respectable time, now that is a personal luxury car with some performance!!!2022
Ответитьi've seen stock 340's faster than those 2
ОтветитьSomething was wrong with that Dodge charger because the charger should have smoked that lead sled all day long.
ОтветитьThe Buick was quick. The Dodge was sick.
ОтветитьIn theory the 70 riviera should be the fastest one with the highest hp 455
ОтветитьAwesome..thank you 2thumbs up...m
ОтветитьNow this was weird @ss commenting gold
ОтветитьI believe the compression was upgraded a bit in that Riv. Very impressive 👌🏻
ОтветитьBuick baby!
ОтветитьFolks always underestimate a Buick.
ОтветитьStarted out as "The Executive express" & gained muscle car status along the way. Only way to catch a Mopar is with a -- uhh -- Buick
ОтветитьWow! I didnt expect that Buick to run that fast. It ran like it was a Stage 1 455 under the hood. That Mopar needs to go up to Canada, to Nick's Garage, get the 440 overhauled and a nice cam in it and try to get 390hp and 425 ft lbs out of it.
ОтветитьMy '69 SS396 Chevelle, turbo 400 use to eat 440's (and Goats) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Never did find a 455 Stage 1 Buick to run......then maybe that was a good thing.
ОтветитьLmao @ Captain Shitshow
ОтветитьDamn that Riviera is hot.
ОтветитьMy favorite boattail 73
ОтветитьI fell asleep watching these races, both car super slow
ОтветитьDont mess with a Buick big block. BTW, the Riv is no bigger than a Charger.
ОтветитьShame the Charger had issues as this would have been a close race, regardless at over 5000lbs th Buick did some great times, this really was a golden era for American car manufacturers, coming from an Australian too.
ОтветитьYour a no class filthy mouthed jerk.
ОтветитьThey are both stones, spend a lot of$$ for little go.
ОтветитьThey sound like oversize vacuum cleaners
ОтветитьI used to see Buicks on the road all the time in he 70s. I did not know they were such fast cars.
ОтветитьPeople can say what they want about the Bow tie Buick, My brothers 71 was 1 fast Car, 455 the car at race track did 120mph 1/4 , that's fast, 1 thing different on his, He put a 4 speed in posi rear 373. That car sucked up a lot of car's at the Track.
ОтветитьSorry Meant Boat tail,
ОтветитьCharger looked like it ha radial tires?
ОтветитьIt’s still pure stock with higher rear end gearing?
ОтветитьThat charger should have slapped the Rivera .
ОтветитьThe day I beat a Buick like this with my 1965 ford wagon with a 352. I was sitting behind a tractor trailer at a light on a rainy day. The Buick came flying around the bend at about 60 mph, and just before he slammed into me, I cut my wheel to the right. He pushed me into a field, past the truck, and he ended up past me. I gave him a ride to his house. All he did was put a big dent in my tailgate. He broke his motor mounts and smashed his bumper and fender into his wheel.
ОтветитьId be so ashamed of that charger, id hide it in the trailer...total embarassment..they should have used that light blue 69 swinger 340 to race the buick and chevy
ОтветитьSerious ill in that Charger.
Ответитьboth cars have 3.2 or 3.5 gearing, which was really necessary in the gas crisis days. so you should not expect dramatic ET's. that said, I'd take either one of these cars, and more than willing to sort out the Charger.
ОтветитьMy disabled great aunt Harriet must have been driving the Charger.
ОтветитьBig Buick V8 torque. No surprises here!
ОтветитьThat was total COOL !!!
ОтветитьDude; graphics and sound effects are AWESOME 👍🏼😅😂🤣
ОтветитьYou’re no comedian
ОтветитьThese cars are slow as molasses
ОтветитьI have a 67 430/400’that will move,console shift 🔥🔥🔥💰🇺🇸
ОтветитьFor $5k, l could have a can of non carbonated V8, or a Big Block Corvette...
ОтветитьThat Riveara is a beautiful car. Kind' hauls ass too...
ОтветитьNice looking cars, but what a couple of dogs though (comparatively speaking to what we normally see other classic muscle cars deliver)
ОтветитьI saw that 1973 Riviera at BOP days at Cordova dragway and my dad has a 1972 Riviera
ОтветитьIf they didn't have all this stupid shit on here it would be so much more enjoyable.
ОтветитьWho is going to win this one? Leave a comment!
