so, so good i enjoyed this
ОтветитьI drove for Roadway in Adelanto,Ca and would run this route to Barstow to the railyard. This route was always my favorite and especially at night. I use to pull over and just stare off into the stars, the sky was so clear. I drove this route for over 10 years and had always seen these sights but never knew the history behind them. This video is awesome, thanks so much, makes me long to drive cross country to drive that route just one more time.
Ответитьawesome video. I grew up in the High Desert, its nice to see a video that's not completely shitting on VV. I really like it here. Clear skies, nice mornings and crazy weather changes.
ОтветитьTypically I jump on 15 to make time to the PCH. Turned around in SB. Homeless everywhere. On a MC thats not safe camping.
Next time I'll hit this section and just stay in East Cabgoing north.
This video really helps.
It's funny when we shot our video on Helendale some people mentioned to us when convincing people to move there they'd blindfold them during this drive so that they woke up and saw the town itself and weren't worried about where this road was actually going, since it looks like the middle of nowhere.
Ответитьdear freind Fantastis video ,Very good, thank you greeting from amazonpawan
ОтветитьYour videos are my favorites
Ответить~sigh~ 🙄 How come I've lived within an hour of this hwy for the last 50 years and this is the first time I've ever heard of it? 😂
ОтветитьShould see the old cemetary in Ore Grande-goes back to the 1800s with a lot of wooden crosses- looks like boot hill
ОтветитьI worked in Helendale and drove there from Apple Valley! Very familiar with that road
ОтветитьWhat is open now, since the pandemic began? Would love to make a trip.
ОтветитьThanks for the interesting music to go with the stories and scenery . I drove part of Route 66 westbound to Castle Air Force Base in 1971 from Texas . Everything looks so "corporate" now , no individual style . Art is one area committees are less than useful .
Ответить66 is one of my favorites.
ОтветитьThank you. I lived in Silver Lakes for a short while as a youth in the late 70's and had no idea that was Route 66, very interesting.
ОтветитьThe cheapest gasoline sign was not a spoof !!! In the late 50's and early 60's my mom and aunt would talk back and forth about if they were going to put a whole $2.00 worth of gas in the car and if it would hold that much ! Because it already had a 1/4 tank !
ОтветитьI've driven this I have a friend who lives in Silver Lake on a golf course, only thing about living there is they have to drive to Victorville for a big grocery store. I go this way to Palm Springs into victorville and apple valley to yucca valley which is near PS.
Sammy davis jr lost his eye from the bullet center on the steering wheel of his 55 Cadillac

ОтветитьI’m kicking myself for never having gone in that Route 66 museum. I love the history my hometown has, it’s just very sad to see what most of it has become.
ОтветитьLived in victorville 2 20 years and applevally 7 year's the desert really grows on you . my son and family still live there
ОтветитьEven seen dale Evans one time in a restruant and seen Riy at a gas station filling up his truck. What great memories too bad the are both gone now.
ОтветитьI took this road back in '89 to visit ole Wool in Silver Lakes, before he went back to his roots in Ohio. Sadly, Ole Wool passed on in 2007, but the memories remain fresh & happy.
ОтветитьWhy was there no mention about the cement plant after the museum? Interesting you left it out.
ОтветитьDriven hundreds of times a great drive
ОтветитьCool area, I really like it! Thank you for sharing the history of these places.
ОтветитьThe museum is east of the 15 fwy,not south of it.
ОтветитьI'm remodeling that dealership, tomorrow, what a trip!
ОтветитьThe bridge is also pretty interesting, in that, we seem to have a lot of cold cases that begin under it
ОтветитьI saved one of their ostriches when dogs tore open a secion of fence, and got it back to her.
