The SSD adapters of third parties were limited to SSD Cache with QTS 4.3. If you want to create a disk volume on it by the GUI (because is possible to make it by SSH, but isn't easy), you need to downgrade to QTS 4.2 before, make the disk volume and then upgrade to QTS 4.3. 😉

Thanks for trying this out. Really good that you take the time to record the experiment.
I have never used one, but I thought that you have to connect the motherboard SATA connectors to the card for the SATA drives to work? Thus you need to sacrifice two drives in the NAS fo rthe M2 drives.

While this card does not have an data controller it is a very cheap way to add an nvme cache. Thanks

Probably a silly question, but for the SATA drives, don’t they need to be plugged in at the back of the board?
