It’s also a remember to use life jackets, the hell is wrong with people. Vacationers come here all the time and drown when they know they and there kids can’t swim

As a former lifeguard - learning how to swim is a basic human skill everyone should learn as a child. Too dangerous to not know.

I remember being in a pool as a kid and drowning. I somehow slipped into the deep end. I remember seeing my dad at the edge of the pool, not paying attention whatsoever, and just conversing with a friend. Thankfully, the man who was my godfather at the time jumped in to save me. Never will I forget that.

Slamming yourself to the ground instead of checking on your neglected child..pay attention lady, it could have been so much worse and no I never allowed my kids near water without me or their dad until they could swim and even then I never took my eyes off of them, not a perfect parent just a responsible one.

Get that child swim lessons. How dare any parent let a child who doesnt know how to swim anywhere near a pool completely unsupervised. This is completely the parents' fault.

Please put safety over convenience and cost and put a lifejacket on! The two had an inflatable float but no lifejacket on? Did they stumble upon someone else's unattended float and hop on without their parent's permission? Unless that's the case, they should've been given lifejackets so they could play in the pool instead of a float. They would've been fine.

All children should be made to take swimming lessons I understand it why was this boy on a float in a pool with no supervision if he can’t swim. Left alone with a cousin who also couldn’t swim who was no help to him. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦‍♀️

How do you let 2 kids who can't swim hang out near a pool?
Also, do things like teach your kids basic life skills: How to ride a bike, how to swim, how to tie their shoes.
My wife has been working at an elementary school for almost 30 years. And parents need to get off their devices and teach their kids. Because the number of 5 and 6 year olds who can't zip up their own jacket, tie their own shoes, blow their own nose, ride a scooter or bike or skateboard or do much for themselves, just keeps going up every year and has spiked since 2020... and it is the parents. Parents are ignoring their kids. Put your cellphone down, get off social media, and go teach your kid a few basic skills.

Blame the kids. Blame the mother. This is ridiculous. If you can’t swim, stay away from the darn pool. We Black people teach these kids to swim. Absolutely furious right now.
