ОтветитьMan this board sounds SOOO underwehelming, and it did already after I changed from the KBD 67 lite's case to the 67 v3 alu version...this sounds exactly like that. soo sad. this is a pass for me
ОтветитьIs that a mf track pad I see you using 🫥
ОтветитьI think its better to go with the Neo 65
ОтветитьAn art piece indeed but unfortunately lacking on the sound department, still hoping they can improve this board! Great vid as always, Alexotos!
ОтветитьI built this board on stream a while ago. Just cutting out the silicone in the alphas portion just made the sound a whole lot better. But yea the internal structure and sound was kind of disappointing when compared to the stunning visuals.
ОтветитьI was gonna buy it but seeing 4 content creators say the same thing about the board. It's a complete turn off. And having to source workable gasket to sound a bit better or decent. Sucks.

ОтветитьI kinda feel like it's a big miss. It's only a KBD67 Heavy, which was the original name for this board. The internals being the same as the KBD67 Lite completely wrecks its value imo. Fixed layout, the obligatory use of the silicone pad since it also serves as the mounting of this board... It's a big shame.
I felt the same about the Holy60. I actually bought a third party GH60 PCB so that I could have the full tsangan/HHKB layout on mine. Once you get that done it's an absolute banger of a board though!
Yeah this was such a conflicting situation. I LOVE THE LOOK. One of the prettiest boards they've made for sure. I def think a daughter board, more layout options, and a new mounting system would take this board to an 8/10 at-least. I think if you use the silicone you are practically forced to use a crazy clacky switch like HMX or a Ghost dragon to make the board have some life. If you're into deep boards then it's great as is. For the majority of the hobby this isn't the case and I agree something new could be implemented to make it better in the sound and feel department.
ОтветитьThank you hard pass for me
ОтветитьHappy birthday Alex!
Ответитьman the look is awesome but the sound tho , the sound is just not it. It sounds so flat , almost sound like pe heavy board without the pe.
ОтветитьFor me this board looks great, however mounting system is very bad. Also don't like fixed usb port, It should have daughterboard.
ОтветитьI wonder when the KBD67 Heavy is supposed to drop
Ответитьwould be a good silent switch board i guess
ОтветитьWhy do you think solder PCB’s are awesome? Is it just because they typically offer more options?
ОтветитьI have Curry Switches on my KBD67 lite with an FR4 plate modded with thicker gaskets on the bottom and switch pads cut to size on the top. No foam between the plate and PCB. Sounds good to me.
ОтветитьWhat if you cut the silicone in a way it would still be usable but sound better?
ОтветитьDid I make a mistake impulse buying this before waiting for this video.
ОтветитьVery lazy of KBDfans to force users to build it with silicone gaskets. It's the MAIN reason why most people sell their KBD67 Lite keyboards in the first place. Your mods really improved the sound and showed us that there's potential with KBDfans keyboards if they're not lazy about it.
Happy birthday Alex!
polar pandas / the old bsun switches are so underrated imo. shame they didnt work out in this board
ОтветитьI don't know how they went from having the multiple mounting options with the tofu 2.0 series. Then, not implementing those or new ways for mounting. Seems like a big afterthought compared to how much time they most likely put it into the case design and weight.
ОтветитьSuch a shame that the make you use that silicone piece. i was realling looking forward to getting this board. they also didn't seeend out any emails about it even though being on a waiting list for a few months now :(
ОтветитьI respect and appreciate the modding, that's really cool and is the reason I got into the hobby in the first place. That being said, it would've been cool if you also included the original silicone mounting style as they had intended, that way we get a baseline of what they wanted it to sound like before immediately dismissing the silicon and jumping straight into mods
Ответитьis the hotswap PCB the same as the KBD67 Light? - For existing owners, may just need the new case as an upgrade
ОтветитьCan someone please tell me which was the switch he changed to at the end? I think he mentioned Carrie switch.
Ответитьmay I ask what deskmat are you using? happy bornday btw! <3
ОтветитьThey could have done silicone like they do with foam, but don’t make it mandatory where the case needs it implemented
ОтветитьNgl I would buy it just for the looks. It's worth it and I would just mod the hell out of it. HBD Alex!
ОтветитьThe only thing I like about the ocean is throwing car batteries in it
ОтветитьMargo name, “Mar” is ocean in Spanish. I’m sure it is some dialect delta
ОтветитьBuilding the board in an unintended DIY way and then saying it sounds bad is a bit absurd. Like yea maybe it’s bad the intended way too but now idek
ОтветитьThe back reminds me of belgian seashell chocolates
Ответить"I can fix her"
ОтветитьI remember seeing this in the coming soon page on their site. I was floored with how beautiful it is. I saw they were using the 67lite PCB, I got super happy because it’s a PCB already linked in VIA and is reliable. Then I saw they were sticking with the same mounting as the 67lite and I remember my heart dropping because I knew this would limit the customization aspect of it. It went from being a must have board for me to an instant no because of that fact. I was hoping for this to be the “premium” 67lite option.
ОтветитьIt's really beautiful, engraving. I myself don't actually feel comfortable with boards looking like a jewellery for frequent use but it's certainly nice looking at. Strangely, my favorite for everyday use is one modest stacked acrylic ortholinear instead of an aluminum. These premium boards feel like driving a supercar for going to buy vegetables and milk in local stores.
ОтветитьI watched kbdfans live last week and they will make a part to fix it.
ОтветитьI might be misremembering, but when they first put this board up on their website, it carried the KBD67 name. Not surprising they've carried over KBD67 elements!
ОтветитьI really appreciate the design of a lot of kbdfans boards but they just don't hit the mark for me, almost everything I've seen out of them as of recent has the same or similar sound signatures to their tofu from however many years ago, I'm not saying its a bad sound whatsoever but to be charging such a premium with no premium features is a bit of a miss for me.
ОтветитьWith that mounting style, it’s just another expensive version of the KBD67 Lite. I don’t understand why the heck they re-used that bland old mounting style.
ОтветитьWell - I do like having a nicer set of clothes for my KBD67

ОтветитьAt first glance, it's a gorgeous case with some fun patina options on it and a simple yet elegant exterior case design. It's really quite lovely. However, it falls apart on the internals. Fixed options for the hotswap unit and a forced inclusion of the silicone mount makes this not appealing for a good chunk of the hobby, I feel.
While the silicone may not just be for me and may work wonders for others, I do urge KBDFans to go back to the drawing board and either include some gaskets for the plate or redo the plate file and PCB entirely.
