I loved her. I listened to this song as my daughter and I crossed the Hathaway bridge in Panama City beach after buying my first journal. This was our anthem. I left Panama shortly after.

This is the one song in the universe that never fails to make me cry. Not once have I listened all the way through without shedding a tear, no matter how often I listen to it. I'm not entirely sure why...my life is very different from the narrator in the song, but when I listen to it I feel like I AM her. Going through each day with patience and determination; holding on to a dream based on a brief sense of belonging that she felt in the passenger seat of a car even as life calls for sacrifice after sacrifice. It breaks my heart to pieces.
