MY FIRST WORLD PREMIERE!!!
Well there was my TwosetViolin piece but they didn't rehearse it like this one was.
You may remember my Clarinet Sonata that took me a long time to write and I finally finished it in early 2020? I submitted that piece for the Kansas Music Educators Association for their annual composition contest back in May and learned that I won it in December. They could only work on one movement, which was unfortunate but understandable and for brevity's sake, I removed the clarinet cadenza as well. But nevertheless, I am so grateful that this piece was performed at all. Special thanks to the contest organizer Jeff Jordan, Clarinetist Kristin Pisano, and Pianist Luis Reyes Duarte (the first two being professors from Fort Hayes State University).
