Staal's arms were outstretched about as far as they could go already, so speaking purely in terms of physics, there was next to no time that any reasonable amount of force could possibly have been delivered by that shove. Crosby is a great player, and he has great balance, so catching the very edge of a glancing shove like that should not have been enough to knock him over. It was a dive.

It had nothing to do with the fact that English not your first language. English isn't my first language, it's Ukrainian. I've also studied Spanish and Korean. So I don't only speak English, I'm fluent in two others (Ukrainian and Spanish) and I can have a decent conversation in Korean.

I will admit that Crosby is arguable the most skilled player in the NHL, but he is not the best all around player. Hockey is a contact sport, and he has no physical game.

Datsyuk is far more skilled. Datsyuk in my opinion is far and above the best player in the NHL. He has everything.

The force of any sort of contact comes more from the follow-through post-contact, than the initial contact. This is why baseball players hit more home runs when they get to stretch their arms out across the plate, and why slapshots get more power than wrist-shots, is a stronger follow-through. If you look at the replay after 0:45, Staal's arms are already fully extended by the time he touches Crosby, meaning that hockey bias aside, the laws of physics say that he barely touched him. He dove.

This dive I give 8,5 poinst. Not his best, but a good one...
