So I don't use arch, I use a distant distribution. Can we get theme instructions for those?
ОтветитьStill super helpful 3 years later 🥰
ОтветитьWayyyyyy too much unnecessary waffle.
ОтветитьI just want my theme set to "dark mode" as system default so that my browser won't flash bang me smh
Ответитьthx
Ответитьi can't install qt5ct the mirrors are not responding :(
ОтветитьI love using i3 and KDE apps... I set the global theme and accent colors in KDE and then I do => echo "XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=KDE" | sudo tee -a /etc/environment
ОтветитьDT to save the day!😸
ОтветитьHi DT.
Love your channel which has inspired me a lot to dive further into Linux and Xmonad.
I am a robotics engineer and I am therefore inside when I program and outside when I test systems.
I was wondering if you might want to make a video where you can switch (system-wide meaning menu bar, terminal, browser etc) between light and dark theme, with a simple key binding. Or maybe you just have a good hint.
I am running Xmonad and Polybar on Linux Mint.
Thanks in advance.
BR. Allan
Be sure to run qt5ct and lxappearance from root as well. Otherwise root requiring apps like synaptic, gparted, and timeshift will remain blinding white.
ОтветитьAs always. You are create very helpfull films
ОтветитьYou should make a new video soon as GTK is moving to LibAdwaita & removing theming.
ОтветитьFor uniform themes, checkout 'Uniform look for Qt and GTK applications' in Arch Wiki.
Ответитьor: Use ArcoLinux. At least when you use stuff from all over the place you'll NEVER get it as consistent - believe me. They took care of *everything*.
ОтветитьI love Plasma desktop's amazing integration of GTK apps into the desktop. There are settings to change only GTK theme built into the plasma settings and by default they use the Breeze default theme just like the QT apps
ОтветитьHello , can you recommend me an app by command line to listen to radio online streaming, without cuts, please thank you
ОтветитьI really liked the I3 + Dracula theme/icons (with minor tweaks) + Arc dark.
ОтветитьPlease make a video on MX Linux running inside Virtualbox. MX uses Fluxbox and XFCE4. Fluxbox is a nice GUI because you don't have to rely either on GTK+ or QT. It's built on top of libx11, written in C++ and libx11 is the only dependency I believe.
ОтветитьElectron applications never respect the desktop theme, regardless of whatever config you set.
Ответитьdoes anybody change the themes every day ?
ОтветитьThis is a usefull video. Thanks
ОтветитьIs there any ways to set themes via file, If yes which file to edit?
Ответитьhey your pacman doesn't look like mine. what is that you're using??
ОтветитьVery helpful, thanks
ОтветитьAnd here is me! After running Arch with DWM, bspwm, i3wm going to install Fedora with KDE Plasma. •_•
ОтветитьYou have to turn on auto-subtitle function. I like your channel, but your english is fast. -0-
ОтветитьIt would be nice to have a program to convert qt into gtk and gtk into qt
ОтветитьI thought qt5ct stood for qt5 change theme lol.
ОтветитьI always pronounced "Kvantum" with "v" so it's like "Keh-van-tum"
ОтветитьI've been using Linux for many years now, and today I learnt something new... Peace! :V
ОтветитьThank you dt, i have both lxappearance and qt5ct on my (debian) system and it bugs the heck out of me to get virtualbox look somewhat right to the dark gtk theme i use. So kvantum is not perfekt but wayy better than the blinding white of vbox before. Is there a qt theme out there that matches arc-dark?
ОтветитьI am just one of them people who don't care about themes. I just want stuff to work and get on with me day.
ОтветитьGuys, if qt5ct is not enough or doesnt want to work for some reason. Install kvantum manager, its the tool used by KDE, a bit more bloated, but basically guaranteed to work
ОтветитьYou can set your Qt themes with Kvantum. Kvantum is a SVG-based theme engine, and there are some kvantum themes that mimics GTK themes, so you can set the "same" theme on both engines and achieve a consistent desktop look.
Search more about it!
Arc-Dark + Papirus icons is my favorite look 👍🏼
ОтветитьGood stuff ! Gno Gnome ?
ОтветитьHey DT, there is a window manager written in rust called "penrose". It doesn't have a config file and because rust is a compiled language, you have to compile it so it is similar to dwm in that case but you don't change the source directly so there is no hassle of conflicting patches, you use the provided libraries(?) to write your own twm similar to you do in qtile and xmonad. Maybe you might be interested in an have a look. AFAIK it is pretty new and it might not be very stable though.
Ответитьplz explain how do customization arch linux after install (audio, brightness,Bluetooth, finger print, etc) for suckless or i3
ОтветитьWhat ??? having to restart an app for theme change to kick in ? Now that's a blast from the past. Painful. Any modern system responds to a change theme signal, so apps change theme without restart instantly.
I had forgotten what i's like living in stone ages with ancient window managers or is it an Xmonad special :D. No thanks, not any more. :)
What is the name of your shell prompt theme? Or your favourite theme for shell?
ОтветитьIs using the dark theme any form of cultural appropriation?
ОтветитьThanks a lot :)
ОтветитьI'd like to know how to change the theme on appimages
Ответитьah, no wonder, OK then, I'll install qt5ct and fix that, thanks :D
ОтветитьMy favourite theme is default.
ОтветитьOomox.
ОтветитьThumbs up for Lays Stax
ОтветитьI am currently using Arch with KDE. I've been thinking about changing to a tiling wm.
