Ryūsuke Hamaguchi - Location Footage from Ontaki (Nunobiki Falls)

Ontaki, the most dramatic of the waterfalls at Nunobiki Park just outside Kobe's city center, has long been considered one of the most important tourist destinations in Japan. We visited as part of the Film Secession trip to Japan in November 2022. Its importance was recognized as far back as the Tales of Ise (tenth century):

Which, I wonder, is higher-
This waterfall or the fall of my tears
As I wait in vain,
Hoping today or tomorrow
To rise in the world
