Good one sir, just to know the possibility can we control tagging of vlans, like for a specific user to tag for a specific vlan id with same SSID?
ОтветитьWoah Keith! Nice job! What type of terminal are you using that is distinguishing lines with different colors? That is a superb feature, one I haven't seen. I think any of us would be thrilled to use such terminal. Thanks!
ОтветитьHow does it load balance? Is there a way see and edit that? I'm not sure if it acts as a spill over or soemthing.
ОтветитьThank you so much Kieth! Extremely practical video. I love you (no homo).
Please more on wireless because that’s what we are lacking + there is high demand on it.
Thank you brother.
ОтветитьNice one, never really had to use this concept but it's good to see. Thanks
ОтветитьThanks Keith... Great to learn from you as always. Stay safe
ОтветитьI like the way you have explained , it is very useful topic , can you recommend for us any course or website to get more information about WLC
ОтветитьGreat content as usual..
ОтветитьCan wlc be simulated on packet tracer
ОтветитьGreat lesson.. But I'm trying to used option 43 on packet tracer which I can't find, so how do I lab it up on Pkt with each AP on different vlans by using WLC.
Ответитьogit <3
ОтветитьAgain very informative and easy to understand video.. Thank you very much Sir Keith Barker
ОтветитьSir Keith, Amazing video! I'm going to challenge myself to complete this series. The bits covered are REAL GOLD of information in day to day Networking Support! Thank you :D - Fahad
ОтветитьI have an issue with Wireless Controller x DHCP, from time to time it stops work, the client can get authenticated but without IP addresses, I cannot find the issue here to remediate I am constantly clearing the ARP table. This is a kind of issue we cannot find in Cisco's books, and courses.
ОтветитьGreat video Keith! I've always wondered about this aspect of WLCs.
During a hotel event that I was managing, our NOC had to do this very thing in order to keep the client's network running. Clients told us that they were coming with 2000 devices to the event space that needed wireless access so we configured the network with a /20 subnet and 500 Mbps of bandwidth just to be safe. On day one of the event SolarWinds started freaking out because not only had they surpassed 2000 devices but exhausted the DHCP pool in a matter of minutes and maxed their bandwidth (thank God we had a 10 Gbps ISP circuit). All told, by the end of the event, 8000+ devices were connecting to the wireless network each day over the 4 day event, and were consistently using 2 Gbps of bandwidth down during their breakouts and general sessions. The group was doing online tests and surveys that all attendees had to take throughout the entire event in order to receive credit and so everyone needed wireless access (a small detail the meeting planners didn't tell us), and trainers were actively downloading content and videos during their sessions. We ended up linking 5 VLANs/subnets together in our Cisco 5520 WLC in order to handle all the devices and better manage their bandwidth. Needless to say, that first day of the event, my team and I were sweating bullets.
I've only ever gotten the hex TLV to to work when using option 43. The other methods are hardcoding the IP on each ap. (no thank you) or adding a DNS entry to I believe its cisco-wireless-controller. I've seen that work as well.
Ответитьthanks for this, useful :)
ОтветитьHi, Interface group help out hell of a lot, one thing to know once you've added a subnet you can't remove it while that interface group is connected to a wlan. Which would affect your wlan.
ОтветитьAwesome Keith great explanation as always. Hi from Mexico! Jeje
ОтветитьThe terminal color scheme is so relaxing for my eyes.
Love your content Keith, thanks alot.
The Way he was explained that was really and again its awesome .. really we had a great session
ОтветитьHi Keith, another great video, option 43 info was very useful. I have a similar setup on home Wi-Fi lab. Initially I was having issues with the AP's not joining WLC. After a bit of T shooting finally got them talking to each other. WLC download image to AP's. Love it when you get the blue solid LED. Having the correct date on time helps on the WLC. Many thanks..
ОтветитьGreat teaching!
ОтветитьThis cleared up a bunch of questions I had. I really appreciate your content, Keith.
Ответитьfor everyone who couldn't get address for his wireless clients, you need to disable dhcp proxy on your controller.
ОтветитьKeith, thanks for your motivation, much love from TUNISIA
Ответитьbro i have topology for WCL with 2 lan cable input.. i;ve checked in the switch there are just trunk no lacp group. can u tell me about it
ОтветитьDoes that mean you're a scientist now?
ОтветитьQuestion, I need to change the Static IP of 100's of AP's on a controller, what's the best way to do this , not interested to do one by one on GUI. thanks
ОтветитьHi Keith. If you make an interface group, and your using different subnets like that, surely you will have problems with DHCP renewals when roaming clients get dumped onto the other VLAN. I'm wondering how do you solve that problem, since it will disconnect them and re-connect them (which will be quite visible on a video conference, where'as if you used the same subnet throughout the SSID, the roam would be almost seamless).
ОтветитьThanks Keith, you are the law
ОтветитьVery helpful, thank you Keith!
Ответитьalways good explanations sir !!!.
the question that has been haunting me lately (since I'm a guy who loves details), is: at what point is the dynamic interface used in the packet traveling from the wirelles client to the wired network (and vice versa)?
Thnks
Thanks !
ОтветитьCan I setup multiple APs using single SSID?
ОтветитьGreat videos. When you create a logical interface, did you first create the vlans on the switch and move the those APs over to those VLANs? That part confuses me
ОтветитьGreat work ...
ОтветитьVery informative video.
Query: How to use existing DHCP sever to assgin IP address to wifi connected device.
Thanks Kieth, this clears up my question of what's the use case of Interface group :)
ОтветитьI'm facing a tough case with this WLC, my distant sites are experiencing several signal cut-off but APs that are installed within the main office are not concerned by this very boring situation! I'd be happy to get your feedback !? Pls note that this situation is concerning also IP phone and any other equipment that use the wireless link. To make matters worse, after 5 ot 15min everything reconnect themself as if nothing happened
ОтветитьHi, how to configuer maximum number for accessing devices in wlc
ОтветитьA company wants to implement a large number of WAPs throughout its building and allow
users to be able to move around the building without dropping their connections Which of the
following pieces of equipment would be able to handle this requirement?
(A). A VPN concentrator
(B). A load balancer
(C). A wireless controller
(D). A RADIUS server
Could you please help me find the correct answer to the question above?
Keith - excellent video! I am studying for the ENCOR and the interface group really had me wondering "what problem does this solve.....?" Thanx for clearing it up.👍
ОтветитьNice one G
ОтветитьGreat staff Keith! Just one question I calculated 77 in hex and it worked out as 4D. Did I miss something?
Thanks. Keep this very informative stuff coming.
JB
how is the traffic divided in the Interface groups? do they use round-robin? or some hashing algorithm?
ОтветитьKeith, do you have an entire training course on Cisco 9800/Wireless?
Ответить
