I went to Brazos Bend State Park outside Houston once. It basically an big gator lagoon. There are walking paths along the water with no barriers. The gators sometimes bask on top of the paths, and you have to either walk by or hop over at your own risk. The paths are no more than 10ft wide.

If the alligator really wanted him there’s no way he could’ve got away. Looks like the gator was just trying to bluff him away from that spot. It worked with me just watching this unfold from the screen LOL!
