Cersei didn’t protect Tommen…clearly didn’t understand him. He was meek, unskilled with a sword, & NEVER prepared to be a ruler or a leader of any kind. He was the “spare” likely a tool to be married off at Tywin’s choosing to secure Casterly Rock with another great House of the time. The fact that even Tywin didn’t prepare Tommen, seeing clearly how INSIDIOUS Joffrey was. Everyone missed the chance to form Tommen to be stronger & have a less emotional character. They all failed “the spare”. Tragic, it seems in this moment Lady Olenna inspired Cersei to in fact “kill them all” & she stupidly wasn’t even in the same room as Tommen. Who overcome with grief, jumps to his death, thinking his entire family has died in the Sept.

Actually, here you can realize that Olenna gave Cersei some advice, even if this was not intencional. But she said clearly that if Cersei doesn't want to die, then she must leave. Or, in other words, if she wants to stay, then she must destroy all of her enemies.

I wonder if Cersei would have blown the sept if Olenna had agreed to stay back and help.

Cersei is like Heracles fighting the Hydra. For every enemy she eliminates, she creates two more due to her impulsive pettiness. She doesn’t check to see how the action might affect others, she only focuses on the immediate results. And rather than realizing her mistakes, even when others specifically tell her how big a flaw it is, she doubles down because her immediate response is that she won this individual fight, so she shouldn’t worry.

Lady Olenna and Lord Varys are the only characters that I enjoy watching, and they're the really smart and wise ones. I could watch them speaking whole day.
