ОтветитьThis is my favorite pecan pie video. So fast I have watched it several times, and even stopped it to soak it in several times. Delicious!! I would like to find a substitute for corn syrup though as it has definite health side effects that I want to avoid. Otherwise, clear and fast, no wiggle room for wasting time. Easy to watch. Maybe a new form of meditation for myself personally. Watch it again!

Ответитьhey! i tested this recipe, in case it helps someone. on last baking step, with tinfoil, DO NOT leave it for 40 minutes. i checked it at 30 minutes and it was already a bit too burnt, but it still tasted good. i followed every step of the crust religiously, checking at every ingredient, but it didn't end up good. maybe i did something wrong but i'd advise a different recipe for the crust. mine couldn't even stay in one piece in order to place it in the bowl. so i had to gather the bits in the pie tray and try to make them into one piece, and it ended up too thick.
the flavour though, was amazing! i removed a quarter of the sugar from the recipe and replaced it with 2 tablespoons of dulce de leche. it was heavenly, tasted exactly how i hoped. thanks!
p.s.: i'm not a native english speaker, sorry if some words sounded weird, i don't know much about baking vocabulary :) and that's also why the pie crust recipe is very foreign to me, i've never eaten that before!

ОтветитьI wish there was a way to know when the eggs needed to be put in… I made scrambled eggs. I would suggest a different recipe for beginners where eggs are beaten in and added to mixture before being heated… lesson learned

ОтветитьI’ve made this several times now. Tastes great, however the filling is always still runny and leaks out when you cut the pie. I’ve checked and double checked the bake times, ingredient amounts, etc. Any ideas what’s going wrong? Another egg in the filling maybe?
Also try this twist for the filling: for the 2 cups pecans, change it to 1 1/2 cups pecans, and 1/2 cup bittersweet chocolate chips.
Crust: 2 cups of flour, pinch of salt, 10 tbsp butter cubed, 2 egg yolks, 4 tbsp ice water.
Filling: 2 cups pecans, 3/4 cup corn syrup, 3 eggs, 1 cup sugar, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 2 tbsp melted butter, 1/2 salt.
