Vzyalsoundsystem — Later (2002)

Also known as Vzyal or simply VS, Vzyalsoundsystem is a duo of Kyiv based musicians Serhiy Dubrovskiy aka Dubmasta and Yevhen Stolbow aka iBad. They are perhaps the only band in Ukraine fully and consistently dedicated to dub. This track however is an obvious exception. A jazzy guitar improvisation, delicately intertwined with field recordings, electronic noise swooshes and hum of the guitar amp, this tune perfectly captures the unique Kyiv atmosphere of the early 2000's — a hazy soundscape of a hot summer day. It was originally released on a limited edition CDR album called "Summer Of Dub" in 2003 on SKP Records run by Dubmasta. This release is so rare that it's not even on discogs yet.

In 2007 it was included into a mini post-soviet lounge mp3 (and a limited edition CDR) compilation by long gone Ukrainian label Arterija from Brovary.
