Nice, succinct video. Just one note. Today the word represents so many different things to different Jews. One Jew's vision of Tikkun Olam can be against Jewish law and considered a heinous sin by another Jew. And Jewish law might be considered barbaric and anti Tikkun Olam by another Jew. One person's "repair" is another person's destruction. It's a great slogan but today is means whatever you want it to mean.

The abstract idea of Tikkun Olam is a beautiful. The main issue is that without an understanding of Torah, it’s completely ungrounded. There are many initiatives being done today are done for the sake of “tikkun olam” but antithetical to torah values.

So basically it’s a central Jewish value that allows all Jews to connect with their identity? I feel like that’s a healthy way to define its place in klal Yisrael.

Tikun olam in the talmud refers to someone who has died. Passed on. In the ground.

I think this video missed the opportunity in discussing why the term tikkun olam has gained such traction specifically within the american jewish community, and why for the same reason it now leaves many jews such as myself with a bad taste in my mouth. Obviously at its most basic level, which is the aspects you covered, in which tikkun olam describes the jewish principle of repairing the world, however the popularity of tikkun olam has been brought about by anti zionist movements in the us that many jews feel are anti semitic and or enables anti semites who exist on the left, furthermore groups such as ifnotnow, an organization that optimizes left wing anti zionist judaism, lives by this phrase and by in large part there movement and the greater tikkun olam movement works to decentralize israel from judaism and instead replaces much of judiasm that involves israel in both term of spirtuiality and of the tie to the physical land with tikkun olam. While repairing the world is important, it isnt the main aspect of judaism and trying to build this new judaism that is fractured from israel because they feel that any tie to israel is something shameful that they need to distance themselves from. This is why the term tikkun olam which prior to its resurgence was a beautiful apsect of the jewish culture and community now leaves a bad taste in the mouthes of jews who still very much are tied to israel and believe in its existence and the rights of the jewish people to be autonomous in this indigenous homeland.

Mostly it’s a process of transforming Judaism into socialism, with its essentially inhuman nature. It’s perhaps the greatest danger to Judaism.

Equality is reached not by removing disrespecting or marginalizing your own culture and emphasizing the strength of another's culture.

True equlality is reached through respect to both sides. Including and especially your own.

It is easy to marginalize the culture into something general and non-material that other people will most definitely agree with.
But Judaism has so much more to it than just some aspects of social justice previously turned mainstream in the west.

They should give emphasis to studying Jewish history, literature, culture, language and makhshevet israel too.
And not remove them as if they do not exist or are meaningless.

"Tikkun Olam" has become a secular cult that is antithetical to Judaism, where Jewish values and traditions are replaced by opposing secular ideas.

You know an organization isn't authentically Jewish if it promotes "tikkun olam", "social justice", or a political party (in the US, usually the Democratic Party) above Torah, traditional Jewish values, and the survival of the Jewish people as Jews.

The phrase "tikkun olam" has a specific religious meaning, as in rejecting idolatry. The secular understanding of, "tikkun olam" is a modern invention and it's used most often to give Jews who don't observe Judaism or traditional Jewish values a fake veneer of tradition to put over their secular values foreign to Judaism that they hold above Jewish values.

To be frank, most of the time it's a phrase used by secular Jews whose real religion is left-wing politics or the Democratic Party, for they without fail put politics ahead of maintaining Jewish traditions, culture, and traditions when there is conflict between the two. It's a phrase used by assimilationists as they slowly transition into a full abandonment of Judaism and Jewish identity. Most of them won't produce any Jewish grandchildren.

“Tikkun olam” does literally mean “repairing the world.” However, the term “social justice” has changed a lot. In the 60s, civil rights activists like Martin Luther King, Jr. meant it in the sense of liberating an oppressed group. Today, the term has been co-opted by postmodern identity Marxists (the woke) to sew discord, spark a revolution, and bring about some sort of “utopia.” Far from tikkun olam, that is actually harming the world. So no, I would not say that tikkun olam is synonymous with “social justice.” Rather, I would say that it means improving the world through acts of merciful, loving kindness (chesed v’rachamim).

The term "social justice" has no meaning or it means whatever you want it to mean. Remember Father Coughlin the anti-semite radio priest printed a magazine which he termed "Social Justice". Oh, who remembers the 1930s?

"repair the world" (Tikkun Olam) by advocating mass immigration into Europe along with the destruction and destabilization of other competing countries around Israel that only help makes this problem worse and give them more "ammunition" of more peoples to send to the West.
It also helps to use the Hall Of Costs to your own advantage and guilt the whites (especially Germanics) to implement social change and other polices that are to your own advantage.
(ADL/anti-racism NGO's in USA and Europe).
Of course the irony being that this kind of subversive behaviour is exactly what Uncle Adi warned against.

But my question is? Why Jews only? In my culture we are taught of Ubuntu(humanity) and kindness to the world, not limited to Nguni people only but includes all nations and cultures. So why are Jewish and Islamic practices not inclusive of other human beings, why not make the whole world better instead of only Jews?? I'm not attacking or anything but I just want to understand why is it limited to my Jewish brothers and sisters only?? If I understood this wrong then I beg for forgiveness from GOD and the Jewish community as well as the Islamic community, I am only curious and would like to understand 🙏❤️💯
