With Jack Smith Dismissing Trump's Cases, What of the American Mantra, "No One Is Above The Law"?

I think we should put up the biggest billboards allowable to say that “Trump was CONVICTED of 34 felonies to steal the 2016 election. No pardon can change that fact. It only prevents Trump for being held accountable by a prison sentence for crimes he committed to fool the voting public.”

Something a large segment of the voting public has swallowed hook, line, and sinker. No questions asked. No facts checked.

He really could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue in front of the gaudy Trump Tower and not be held accountable. Any attempts to hold him accountable will be met with armies of lawless attorneys seeking every way possible to postpone being held accountable in THIS life.

He will either lose what is left of his mind or die before anything substantive happens to him. Who will be the next unaccountable president? JD Vance sure looks like he could easily do that in spite of his professed faith. Next in line for president is the Speaker of the House. Our job now is to make sure that is someone who believes that a civil society MUST be ruled by laws that apply to EVERYONE.

There's only interests and power.
Even in a criminal trial it is often a coin toss to see if an innocent person will go to jail or will go free. When power exist, the scales have always been skewed.

This is the MANTRA that democrats are aways saying ( no one is above the law not even the president) only problem they forget all about this when it comes to illegal aliens. Virtually EVERY charge against Trump was 100% politically motivated AND contributed DIRECTLY to his election. The DOJ chose not to prosecute Biden regarding the classified documents he had aquired before becoming president, and had NO authority to possess, exposed Trumps charges for what they were, politically motivated. Never mind the fact that as president, Trump had every right to have the documents.

All that said, it is rich you pompus asses are soooo concerned about the rule of law when Biden pardons his son, not only for the crimes he was convicted of but also any he committed 10 years previous. This confirms that the entire relationship between the Biden family, Burisma, and Ukraine was nothing but a money laundering operation, funneling US tax payer money disguised as aid from the US, to Buisma/Ukraine and back to the Bidens.

They had to repeat the horror we all went through the first 4 years. Now, it will be 1000x worse.

The example has been set-whatever you can get away with is fine, especially if you are ultra-wealthy. Laws are either meaningless or selectively applied.

What it means is that the rule of law in the US is effectively a joke; a concept no longer to be taken seriously when a country deems it acceptable to reelect a convicted felon as its president. What will ensue over the next 4 years can only be guessed at. Faint hope would seem to be about the best one can expect.

Observer from the UK here. I hadn’t watched one of Glenn’s videos in a while, not since DJT won the election. I have followed most of the progressive channels somewhat obsessively for the last 12 months, waiting for the good vs evil vindication in the final reel. Just like all the Hollywood movies I have ever seen. The ending to this particular movie took a swerve however, without Jack Smith riding triumphantly into the sunset. This is a sad, sad day for American democracy itself. There is no Hollywood ending here. The rich, old, white guy with the worst of intentions has broken your democracy. In plain sight. And he has done this because half of America just doesn’t care about the mountain of criminality he has committed. Quite the opposite. They love him for it. Sadly, I can see Glenn seething through my TV screen. No one with any last vestige of morality wanted this particular ending but we are where we are. And Uncle Sam is no longer the shining beacon on the hill, that many people had once thought it was. Personally, I have chosen to tune out now, to preserve my own sanity. With this particular ending, this was definitely not a movie I had seen before. Good Americans need to figure out where to go from here, but I fear that that will probably not happen in my lifetime. Churchill’s words still ring true: “Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others”.

Sometimes we are our own worst enemy, justice may matter to you and it may matter to me. Unfortunately it didn't matter to the majority of American voters. So what does that say about Americans as a whole? The facade has collapsed and a clear picture emerges. As for the American Mantra "No one is above the law" that facade has also fallen and turned that mantra into nothing but a nice sounding but meaningless catch phrase that just does not reflect the reality that is America today. America can no longer be seen or looked upon as a pillar of democracy nor justice, the majority of Americans have made that very clear. So we have no choice but to see it that way. The American gavel has pounded and it's time to call it like it is.

When you pray for rain you have to be prepared to deal with the mud. I hope America is prepared because there is going to be a lot of rain and a lot of mud. I knew America had it's problems, we all do but I honestly believed America was better than this, I was wrong.

This will take a long time to fix, maybe a generation or more.
