And this won't reduce the effectiveness for anything else??
ОтветитьDoes anyone know with testing if LHR effects gaming results? Idc about mining I just want to game but don't want to spend 1k on a LHR if it's gonna effect gaming performance
ОтветитьI have never thought about my GPUs resale value and never will
Ответитьim NOT doing it! but i was curious so i used a nice hash calculator on a 2060 super, according to that 2060 will make £3 per day, tried it with my 3070TI LHR version.... it will make £2 per day. the 2060 wins by £1 its not got LHR it was bought long before the gpu crysis
ОтветитьIf according to the article shown here that Nvidia was able to hack itself both on a driver and firmware level and totally removed the LHR restriction. that means it's not on the hardware level. even though they renamed the GPU. since the video was made. they already found a bypass.
and one correction. this new LHR version does not only target Ethereum, it's meant to target any cryptocurrency mining. which I am in favor of.
Aside from the fact that cryptocurrency is the Biggest scam EVER pulled on the public.
As a gamer, I'm on board with LHR. In fact I'd like to see them detect mining, and flat out disable it entirely. The reason for that, is because the miners have been abusive to the market. If they were just buying 1 card to mine with, then no one would care. But they're buying 200 cards at a time, and draining the supply out of the market, meanwhile not purchasing the cards that are designed for mining. If you're going to buy in bulk, you should be ordering in bulk from a distributor / manufacturer. Not going to a local computer store, and buying every card they have. It's a sad day when stores have to put a 1 card per person limit, just because people abused the system.
ОтветитьDoes LHR affect performance for a high quality rendering ?
ОтветитьI bought a prebuilt just recieved it today. My 3080 has a V2 written on it. Wen i googled what that meant is the first time i heard LHR
ОтветитьSorry i am not good at English can anyone tell me please!VGA LHR and Non LHR wich one is better for mining? Thank you.
Ответитьcmp cards are crap the cmp 170HX has an roi of about 500 days where the 3090 has an ROI of 320 days if you can get one at $2000 they will have to lower cost of the cmp cards to make miners even think about it.
ОтветитьToo little too late. I am waiting till it all blows over. Maybe I will wait for the 4000 series cards or wait till 5000 series, all I know is I am waiting and keeping my money.
ОтветитьAfter 6 months how are the LHR cards? Do they affect gaming or not?
ОтветитьFE editions are non lhr
ОтветитьI have a zotac rtx 3070 lhr and its amazing, for gaming its just a normal rtx but with the letters lhr in the box, same fps, but I just used it for gaming
ОтветитьNvidia is making big mistakes. It is like a car that deliberately gets half milage. It is anti-environment: because people use the same power and get lower hash rate.
It is also going to hurt them. I am in Costa Rica. I see computer stores with shelves of Nvidia but hard to find an AMD. Many gamers want to make a few bucks when not gaming. Now Nvidia insults them. It is time for more AMD and some Startups. Maybe Intel should get into high end video card business
Nvidia board members: Hmmm why are our profits so low this year?
Ответитьin the mean time NB miner say; hold my beer :D 80% of the LHR been unlocked. soon will be 100%
ОтветитьThey have no business telling me what to do and what not to do with my hardware. I already don't buy Nvidia for that reason however, so there is nothing more I can do about it.
ОтветитьI can't buy these cards they're too expensive
Ответитьsteve: talks and talks
me: Nice foliage ...moment the plant is real
I should consider being more hours in rl than cryengine.
Do LHR GPUs affect Rendering Times and Dynamics Simulation Timings in Maya ??
ОтветитьNVIDIA is ridiculous. They sell overpriced LHR or the same price as non LHR with less resell value and low stock anyways so... It's the same thing! Exept they screw you over everybody even more.
ОтветитьI will not buy a LHR card (if it is at msp (Minimum support price then yes ) at MSRP or above i will not .
NON LHR cards also i was for 3080 i was maximum willing to pay 100-150 dollars more than msrp as i am stuck without a graphic card and have a immediate need but now in retrospect as a year has been wasted due to the commercial greed of Nvidia i wont be buying any of their cards at all . This line or the next and i hope some one in all of the countries sues them or informs the government of the Unfair and corrupt practices these people are using and extorting consumers due to a 2 sides monopoly between amd and nvidia . Let the government hounds also stick it to these guys as they have been doing it to the consumer.
I'd would not buy a gimpped card, I mine with my 3070 and 3060Ti when I'm not gaming (which has paid for them!) and I also game with both when I have spare time, I would rather have the best of both worlds thanks NVIDIA!
ОтветитьAny news on testing LHR vs non LHR cards yet?
ОтветитьI would like to see someone switching the core from x02 to x00 in an atempt to bypass lhr if this is possible, and maybe also try a non lhr 3080 core in a lhr 3080ti
ОтветитьIf a video card is gimmped in any way compared to the "normal" version. It should be a cheaper card. Why should anyone pay the same for a card that does less? (using the mining feature or not)
ОтветитьLHR cards should be less expensive. Old cards did not have any limits in use case or value. By limiting with lhr they just cuts the use cases.
Bought two for gaming builds and friends did not want them.
How lovely that they're "fixing" things in a way that will affect scalpers not in the slightest.
Miners are only part of the problem.
Maybe I'll think about the 30 series when I can get a 3050 for under $250, which looks like (A) isn't going to be made anyways, (B) if it was, would be only < $250 ten years from now on eBay, used, and made by some mysterious Chinese company like SparkleWonderJoyPower.
ОтветитьI just dont understand why gamers are accepting this. Nvidia is blatantly ripping everyone off. "let me sell you this card that can no longer pay for itself, kek" nvidia is literally taking hundreds of dollars of mining potential from people over the span of 12 months. Bypass LHR better happen.
ОтветитьI checked the 3Dmark comparison and LHR has lower performance then non-LHR. Would be awesome if GN could make a comparison because this stinks. As an ex-owner of GTX 970 I hate being scammed AGAIN!
ОтветитьBeen 4 months since I stopped gaming due to my 1050 dying. Bots , scalpers and flippers oh my. Wish I could just buy a card, but can't bring myself to pay $3,000 for a $900 card.
ОтветитьRecently started mining. I bought 3 pieces of 3060ti gpu's. 2 of them turned out to be lhr. Woops...
ОтветитьI mean, miners can just buy up cheap 2nd hand gamers cards off them when they upgrade.
Same hash rate as some of the LHR, at least half the price 🤣
I think scalpers and miners are going to buy up all LHR cards anyway just to piss the world off. Fact is everyone knows they should never release something they don’t have enough off
ОтветитьYou know what's going to happen is CHiNA is going to jump all over this and start selling there vid cards with no HASH RATE limit and make a F'n fortune as Nvidia sales plummet... 🤣😂😂🤣 Stupid mofo's. Basically another video card manufacturing company is going to make HUGE $$
ОтветитьSo are they making the founders edition 3060 ti cards LHR ??
ОтветитьWell. This didnt age well... Old GPUs has risen in value (miners have most of those mind you Nvidia) and the new cards are expensive as fuck. Good going Nvidia, trying to blame miners and win the gamers over. Hope they are seeing your true colors now. Your PR stunt backfired. Because all in all its still the fucking lack of resources and covid restrictions that are causing this lack of GPUs and other tech
ОтветитьI'm excited to get my hands on one! 3070ti baby!!
ОтветитьI fail to see how LHR would be a solution to the problem. Miners will find their way around this limitation, just mining something else which is not throttled. Obfuscating the mining algorithm until the GPU cannot recognize it. This seems like an arms-race which we should not start. Gamers would suffer from performance drops due to games misdetected as miners. Also, only halving the hash rate?? It is definitely not enough. See comments from miners. Regulators should stop the convertibility of cryptos, it would solve the whole problem (including the insane energy consumption) instantly. It is not a technical problem, it is a regulatory one.
ОтветитьLHR is worthless, nobody will buy them, unless people who don;t think... Like children... Why would y buy same technology but low efficiency card? It will eat power like 3080, but perform 2x less than 3080... It's like buying a downgrade, but has same appearance as upgrade... Which creates a huge confusion... Some people won;t be happy, to get a cat in a bag...I guess Nvidia's marketing sucks huh? And not all vendors put LHR, they just try to hide the facts... Which is a scam...
ОтветитьSince you can mine anything else other than Ethereum they should have called the GPU’s Lite Ethereum hashrate. I bought a 3060 and I am using it to mine Conflux I still get about $1.75 a day in profit at the moment. I bought the 3060 directly from EVGA for $450 after tax.
ОтветитьNews flash, ETH 2.0 proof of stake is going to kill mining ETH which is soon, wether you have LHR or regular it doesn’t matter. Steve you should’ve mentioned this in your video.
ОтветитьBeen on EVGA's Waiting list for a 3080 ultra. They sent me an email today that they are changing my product to a LHR Version. Been waiting since January 7th WOW!!! HOPE THIS HELPS! Will it hurt any gaming performance?
ОтветитьI would just be a bit scared that cuda performace for blender and stuff goes down.
Also I did plan to mine some crypto on my gaming rig when i am not actively gaming just to make back my "initial investment"
so it would be a bit worse for that, but I would still be happy to just get a card anyway..
