Closed beta was back in 2012 whenever Diablo 3 came out. It was $10.00 to get a beta key, so it was ostensibly open with how cheap it was. Because of D3’s massive shortcomings, POE called my capitalized on all that Jay Wilson and his couldn’t couldn’t comprehend and morphed into one of the greatest games ever made

As a 7 year Poe long time supporter, I hope u enjoying poe2. I will follow ur content as well. And the funniest thing in poe2 will be: you can actually raise your shield up 😜

If you're interested, look up vendor recipes. Not everything is worth picking up, but vendoring some specific things can get you very useful items.

i did some things that made it very difficult to progress which made it miserable for me.
For people trying out POE before POE2's release here are some pitfalls;

Saving currency - these are orbs that can be traded for gear. Currency is great for getting exactly what you want, sure - but it stops you trying to use them to change your gear and craft.

Trying to pick up everything - you will burn out before act 4 if you do this. They are pretty generous with town portals but the constant back and forth is a miserable experience.
Take what you might need, like the look of or want and ignore the rest - a semi-strict filter is really handy for filtering out the crap items.

Not putting points into your skill type - I usually play minion build but my first time i was just picking up Intellect assuming it'd scale my damage.
What i completely ignored was the big sockets that say increase minion damage, minion life etc you can search key words like this in the top of the skill tree.

Not socketing support gems on your skills enough - This was a two-parter for me, I wasnt crafting, so praying to RNJesus to give me a blue socket gear with 3 linked slots - not gonna happen.
Instead it's better to craft the socket colour and links you need, as well as having one main skill on each bit of armour/weapon with it surrounded by support gems.

Your first six link, as they say is your first real upgrade.

Defences - I completely ignored resistances in the defences tab in the character page. This would have explained why I was getting one-shot every five minutes.
In POE you have 3 resistances you have to worry about early and 1 later in the game. Fire, Cold, Lightning and later on Chaos. Getting any resistances on your gear, even 10% crafted will help early on. You should aim to get 75% resistance on all 3 of the early ones as soon as you reasonably can. It'll make you so much tankier against elites which get way more common the further you go.

Daaaamn I got a ruri marathon of him trying to understand poe! Can’t wait to binge this. 😂
