While it is good to have Pals great with a variety of skills, it can sometimes be an issue because they will sometimes get distracted and may start working on other tasks you may not want them to at the time. (Not as much an issue now because I believe you can now set your Pals so they will focus on specific tasks over others.)

You don't want more than 1 penking at your base early game, they eat all your food. As each of them have 9! Food points for their needs. You will soon find all your work forced depressed because your dam penking has scoffed all the food. Plus, have you ever watched them... They stop working literally every other minute to go and eat food, then have like 10 short breaks a day. Definitely not worth it to have more than one. Trust me. They are good for short boosts in productivity, if you assign then appropriately. But I've noticed the more jobs they have to run around and do the less they actually get done... Just like in the real world ladies and gentlemen haha

Another good tip is not to set up your base at the first fast travel... Ive gotten raided 4 times i think and only once were there pals. But, i got a shitload of raider gear or whatever.

Leafmonk smg is better in my opinion as you can maximize the DMG easier

I found plenty lovanders at the beach in the desert area with the anubis boss, at night

Cativa are the early game Anubis. Also talking about early game, Direhowl are great ground mounts

This list is only for those who catch pals. If you want to breed them there’s 4 pals not on the list that will unlock some of the best pals. Cremis, malpaca, nitewing and direhowl.

I use Direhowls as my resource gathering mount, you can become severely over-encumbered you can use their charge attack to clear some ground quickly. When you pick your spots it's a very quick way of getting a lot of stuff quickly and not having to slug it back to the base for a good long while.

I like to think the random spheres I see laying on the ground are from wild vixies

Honestly, Tanzee is only good to farm mushrooms for. Their ability is not that good as they hip spread all over the place. Good for a laugh but not much else. Also Lovander is NOT what I'd call an early level pal. Plenty of people, myself included, never even saw a Lovander raid until level 20+

If you want a good early pal that's adaptable for both work and combat, go for Pengullet instead. Foxsparks is one of the earlist weapon pals you can acquire too, allowing you a flamethrower. Additionally once you level up to the double digits, you can try your hand at Dinossom, a really strong pal that will last you late game.

A wumpo is really good a level 3 for wood

I would also recommend Ribunnies over cattivas.... The problem with keeping cattivas at base is they keep getting distracted and going off to do mining or something when they should be transporting the items that the more essential pals are dropping from ranches. You do not have that problem with the pink bunnies. all they are there for is to transport goods and help you craft items.

Vixys are great.... But I wouldn't underestimate the Maus. You can usually find them at any of the starter dungeons.... There's a couple around the small settlement and one on the beach just south of the starting area. They drop gold coins which will definitely come in handy when you start wanting to trade with the merchants and the small settlement or the larger settlements..... Or visiting the black market trader. And if you have the time and energy don't forget that both vixie's and maus become more effective as you put them through the condenser and level up their companion skill.

To get the Tanzee. You can just take the shortcut by jumping over the cliff where the skill tree is located with the paraglider. Don’t have to swim across or travel around.

Loveander spawns along the beach by the Anubis boss only at night! When in the paldeck, if a pal says can’t be found at this time change the sun to the moon in the bottom right
