You could hear the disappointment in your voice as you started the video !!! I think Gamemax missed an opportunity here, a bit of extra work and it would have been a fantastic fan hub for the price. Gamemax like their RGB, I saw a review of an RBG PSU from Gamemax the other day !!! Thanks for the video Mike, as always.

Hi Mike, I've just purchased a case that comes with this, if I want MOBO PWM control then I use the PWM cable and the SATA cable, which in-turn disables the fan control from remote but I have full control from MOBO, is that correct?

Mike i swear you have a video on everything i am thinking of getting! What im going to do is have 3 120 mm pre installed corsair fans on a spec delta with 2 140 mm fans also from corsair so do you think if i just put them all plug em all in and put it in a tomohawk max do you think i can get all the rgb working and fans spinning because i am primarily just doing it for aesthetics

Would this work for the gigabyte b450m ds3h motherboard cos I bought them both together, (it came with 3 fans and an rgb strip). I hope this works because if it doesn’t I’ve wasted £60. I am kind of panicking. Help me!!

Could I just buy a new hub if it doesn’t work and my fans still work?

Can you use this instead of the uphere controller for uphere fans?

Does it default to what setting you last had?

I can't deal with uphere hold reset for 3 seconds everytime I turn my PC on!

Hey mike. Im so confused. I bought some upHere Fans from amazon. They have a 3 pin connector which when plugged in controls the fan and the rgb. Sadly, the fans are in a normal rainbow rgb even tho they have 20+ modes to cycle through with example a remote controller. I also have aura sync on my b550F. My question is. WIll i be able to controll the rgb on MY fans with this device. So thankful for your help in the video but please reply

I have a GameMax Crusader Tower that came with a bare-bones, 4-port hub and 4 GM Mirage fans. However the case can take 6 fans and so when I upped the count to 6, I got this hub and it works fine, even without my MB having an ARGB header.

Despite using all 6 ARGB ports for my fans, I've been able to add 2 GameMax Viper LED strips, which allow for "daisy-chaining" so you can still have all 6 fans retain their ARGB functions and also have the strips running too. As well as the RF controller, GameMax cases (well, mine does at least) have a button on top, next to the reset button, that connects to the hub and allows you to cycle through the colour modes. I guess it's just in case you lose the remote or the battery has packed up and you have a burning need to change the LED colours / mode? Personally I leave it on rainbow-chase mode because I like the pretty colours.

Even without PWM control and thus having the fans all running at 100% I have to say the rig is still rather quiet - definitely quieter than my last case, which only had 2 fans.

As it's cheap, it feels very flimsy and that's not good when you're as cack-handed as I am (very!) but so far I've not broken it. That said the connections can seem very loose and can easily be dislodged if you're not careful.

I like that it's encased to protect the innards although in my case any aesthetic change is rendered moot by the fact it's hidden away in the cable compartment. With a lot of connections going into it, I found the sticky-pad wasn't sufficient so I looped a thin cable-tie around it just for peace of mind.

Eventually I will replace my now somewhat dated motherboard with one that has ARGB headers and so will see what improvements can be had with proper control software but, for now, this hub is doing the trick and doing it well.

I purchased GAMEMAX 6 Port ARGB Fan Hub not too long ago & to be honest it was pretty good however i could not control the fan speeds via the remote control but ARGB works great otherwise.
I should mention that i did use there recommend fans Velocity & Razor fans.

I have one of these that came with my Gamemax Vengeance case. I also bought another one of these cases for my nephew, and it came with one broken fan. I tested it with a non-Gamemax fan and noticed that I had no speed control any more. This was still the case even after I unplugged the foreign fan. I had to replace the MOSFET that controls fan voltage in order to get proper speed control back. So my warning to you is that if you plug a non-Gamemax fan into the hub, you will permanently lose speed control!

I know Razor and Corsair make these but they are hella expensive so thought £12,00 bucks no biggie however I have 7 fans in my system 9Gamemax as it happens) this only does 6 so will I be able to run a fan splitter off one to accommodate the seventh fan, cheers man great work

I got 2x of these controllers with 2 sets of 3x fans I bought. The fan speed worked fine when you used the remote, but plugging them into the PWM header if the motherboard had no effect on fan speed. All it did was disable fan control from the remote.

It's poor how these controllers are. My Aerocool Aero One Mini Eclipse came with 4 ARGB PWM fans and a controller, but doesn't report the RPM at all.

The controller only controls the lights, but is a fan hub obviously, but not passing the RPM signal to the mobo connector means even set to PWM in the bios, because it can't see the RPM it just sets them to 100%... Dunno why they didn't just have it forward the RPM signal from the fan connected to the first port.

Either way I used an old CPU cooler fan fastened to the top of the case, and spliced in the wires to the controllers mobo fan connector, but with the RPM line connected too, now the mobo controls them just fine.

I actually was looking for an aRGB controller which could work completely independently from a computer. I made a TV cabinet which I wanted some cooling in so needed a controller, I'm ok for everything to run at full speed I just wanted something to power fans and do aRGB. Great review, funny really cause most of the things you didnt like is actually how I would prefer :)

Thank you for going through it so closely, its perfect for what I need..at least.

Hey mike, sorry i know this is an older video but have a question...

ive got this hub paired with 6 gamemax razor extreme fans (3pin)... Ive plugged the hub into my cha_fan header which by default was set to dc and the fans were running quite fast. Changed the header to pwm mode in bios and noticed the fans definitely slowed down slightly... Is this the correct setting , or should i put it back to dc mode?

Also noted that Fan Control doesnt pick up any speed sensor, but i assume thats because the fans aren't 4 pin pwm themselves?
