You only need to see info when you are looking at the watch, so Amoled is great!!

I just hope so very much that the next gen Tactix comes in 47mm with MIP, then Garmin will FINALLY have made the perfect watch for me. Garmin makes so many great watches, but so far there has always been some detail missing for either of them to be just right for me. Really hope to upgrade soon, just get it right this time 🙏

Garmin customer service is the absolute worst... you would think that after spending $1000.00 younwould get responsible customer service....BUT NO, my screen died with less than 3 years of service. Garmin could care less....seems their policy is to get you to upgrade at full cost...minus 20%....they deceptively call that an exchange. Relly thats just taking advantage of their customers...buy from a different company.

Question, when the almoled always on display is “on” 😂 can you see it from an off angle. I wasn’t 100% sure in your video if the AOD was on, but if the answer is yes that seems like a resounding no 😢

Have you upgraded to a recent build because they supposedly improved the visibility of the AOD ?

That's why I'm MIP forever.

Id go with the MiP and this video shows exactly why. Its a watch, I am not watching 4k UHD movies on it, i need it to tell me the time and do so in direct sunlight. I dont want to make a big gesture to activate its screen, I would like to glance down and see all the info I deem important.

The biggest argument for Amoled to me is the better detail on maps, but if i need more detail than what the watch shows I have several hiking/topo map apps on my phone including Garmin's own companion map app. The maps on the watch just keep me pn the trail without needing to dig out my phone as often.

I had the Fenix 7 pro and now the 8 Amoled.
Amoled is better in most light conditions. Except under the direct sun.
But it's very important to have the Amoled on AOD, without gestures, if you want a similar looking as the MIP.
Here the comparison is not so fair as it's 51mm vs 47mm.

why amoled is smaller?

Is it the same interface as the amoled ?

It seems to have less reflections than previous fenix solars.
