Like the RT-N16 this router is pure trash. had mine for only a day and 5ghz and 2.4ghz stoped working. This happen with the rt-n16 2.4 radio ASUS is trash.

For those of you who still have this router and would like a use for it. I bought the AC 5300 Asus router and I used the old wireless N router as an Access Point by configuring it in repeater mode since Ai Mesh is not supported for it.

There is no option to config wireless for my asus rt-ac87u and username and password doesnt work as admin . I would like to access the modem wirelessly so i can fix my firewall to use filezilla server program as passive mode settings. The error warning: ftp over tls is not enabled, users cannot securly log in

although helpful to configure the rt you skipped over crucial info my setup wizard is asking. I can figure out what my server IP addy is but you didn't even mention: subnet mask, default gateway and DNS server 1 & 2. I can't go any farther without it so the rest of the video is meaningless until this is sorted out.

New screens are popping up yet speaker doesn't bother to tell you what he clicked on. This video is very confusing to follow and speaker makes it even more so by going off on tangents to change the password multiple times.  Video doesn't address my issue where automatic setup is taking me to define the IP address, subnet parameters, etc. which I don't specifically know.  I thought the router defines subnet parameters.  Also how do you download the latest firmware to this device as recommended by the written instructions that come with the device.  They obviously didn't test out this video with a layperson who like myself has still many unanswered questions.

I'm using this Asus router, getting high down- and upload speeds and low ping, but some of the pages won't load or take very long time to even start loading.. never experienced this kind of weird latency lag/bug on my last router.. any tips/advices? I'm using mainly wlan/wifi. Is there any unofficial os-updates that work better than the actual Asus-ones? Anything helps :)

I have 35 download and 5.50 upload.   but when ever my mom and sister use the network i think it connects them or like makes them there own network because the wireless network connections show the number of clients that i have thats connected but its all the connections but mine have 2 bars and they complain that its very slow for them. but not for me. WHY

i hate routers like this, impossible to setup

This was the only router that was able to cover my town home. My place is not a big place, but all other N routers couldn't get a signal downstairs but this one did the job.
