Home Depot vs Menards | The Contractor Experience

Where would be a good place to shop for good quality drywall?? Menads or Home Depot?? I’m looking at 40 of 4.5 x 12x1/2

The first time a Menards employee talked to me in 10 years was to tell me to leave the store and return when I put a mask on, as they wouldn't help me at the checkout line if I didn't (this was prior to the mandates and menards imposed their own vehemently). I can attest that under normal circumstances, they usually seem to run away from you.

Home Depot on the other hand, while I haven't been hit with the financing pitch, its probably every 3rd time I get asked if I need help finding something and thats only because I dont know exactly what brand I'm going to buy so I stop long enough to look at something. I usually am in and out. One time I went to grab a can of primer and after studying the few options, an employee asked if I needed help, I said nah I'm just getting some primer. They said "oh ok, its right.... oh there it is." Then sad puppy dog followed me to the opposite end of the aisle as I meandered, waiting for them to excuse themselves and the whole time feeling bad for them. Its as though they are told they have to hang out and provide assistance even if the customer says they're good and even if they don't know enough about the products to give any good advice if real questions were brought up.

Also yeah, the lumber selection at Menards offers way more variety than Depot or Lowes

I'm in Minnesota, if location is relevant
