There was a show i watched growing up called 'Creepy Canada' the screaming tunnel was on there. They stated that a little girl was being chased by her father he doused her in gasoline and lit a match and threw it at her.... that's why they say when you light a wooden match you'll hear the screams followed by the match being blown out..... not sure which one is true but I remember seeing that episode when I was around 10 or so.

As a teenager we would go to the Screaming tunnel many times usually with a new date or girlfriend that would stay real close and hold on tight if it started screaming which IT DID whenever a wind would blow in one side of it and out the other side screaming through it 😱 👍🌟 Cold nights along with the wind were particularly good !😂😉💥

Hyah, you Northern neighbors. Over the decades we've (me, in N. Illinois mostly) have come to terms with knowing that some of the best singers, composers and storytellers in the world come from your provinces. In gratitude, I promise we'll gas up your lawn mowers if you'll loan us a couple snowblowers. LOL We might need a hand shoveling out this winter. Cheers, all; don't forget your tire chains and practical solutions.

Hi. I worked at the Whitby Psychiatric Hospital from 1985 to 2001 as a Registered Practical Nurse. I remember the old buildings. They were creepy. One story in particular was at night while I worked the night shift in Building 25. Building 25 was a two storey building. The upper floor was vacant for years. Every night I was on nights at a certain time the elevator would start going up and down. Despite bringing professionals in to figure out what was going on with the elevator, noone could explain why the elevator moved at night. There were tunnels underneath those buildings as well. Building 32 in the video was known as the powerhouse (I think)

The Rideau Regional Center, now Gallipeau Center, used to be home to an Airsoft venue called Siloki, They used to host a Wednesday game night running from 9pm until 1 am. My friend and i would go often and the experiences we had were absolutely bone chilling. One occasion we both heard a disembodied voice tell us to "GET OUT" in a muffled scream. Often we heard footsteps, doors slamming shut, knocking on walls and bone chilling cold spots that would make your hair stand on end. sometimes we would find ourselves perusing opponents who's shadows and figures we could see in the dimly lit rooms and hall ways, only to find they had vanished. these experiences were fear inducing, and at times would cause us to leave early, feeling unwelcome in the building.

Hamilton Ontario
I remember one mentally ill facility when I was younger and it was what we called up the mountain. Not sure if it was upper James or upper Wentworth .
I just remember it was where they kept the criminally insane the people were sent from all over Canada and there were some dangerous people that escaped and
we heard horror stories

Great video. I never knew I could have taken a tour of the tunnels when I went to Humber college.

Only thing I was confused about was the indigenous peoples being referred to as Indians in some cases. I'm guessing it is because they were called that in some of the older stories, but you may want to change that in future videos :)

Very interesting and well done. Excellent in every way. The personal connection for exanple. But I was taught a very different history regarding 1st nation tribes. Then again, we live in the agricultural Huron Indians. The amount of warfare and senseless violence especially in territories so vast and rich in resources. Cowardly bloodshed by the yellowknife against the sleeping Inuit. That's more like apache or Iroquois. Regardless, a little too detailed violence, no?
Otherwise perfect. The Mimico Assylum was never abandoned, just closed. The lawns were maintained and buildings maintained and windows painex and repaired. So glad it finally found a new forever owner. The was zero deterioration. I took a cpl rolls of b/w film there one afternoon with my ex. in late 90s. It never achieved the look of an asylum. Their treatment is a perfect model for mental health recovery or maintenance. Self esteem and sense of accomplishment.
I wish you covered tbe ghost of Ryerson University. It was killed by political moccasin licking. Just because he designed the English boarding school system in England. It's now called the Metropolitan Toronto University. Meanwhile yellowknife tribes live on Great Slave Lake. Not far fom lessor Slave Lakes joined by slave river. Sigh.
