How to play a Strat. Better than Hendrix.
Ответитьwhat the fuck he is perfection
ОтветитьThat's crazy how he manages to control such a huge reverb so well
ОтветитьThe chromatic lil starting at 4;20! Holy smokes!🕺🏾🕺🏾💯💣🎸
Ответить35 years ago and everyone is still trying to catch EJ. Maybe the best to ever do it.
Austin definitely had something in the water at this time. So many greats
Poor Kyle, I guess he's chopped liver... you have to go stand next to him during his solo just so the camera man will look over there. One of the most ludicrously good guitar pieces ever played.
ОтветитьGotta give credit to the sound guy and engineer this could easily be a studio live version by how amazing it sounds... Just a class act all the way
ОтветитьThe drummer is so sick. What a band. Would kill to see them live in this era
Ответитьsaw this tour in Cincinnati....obviously it was astonishing.
ОтветитьFcking goat..
ОтветитьLive from Austin has to be the best ever live gig in terms of guitar playing. Simply insane stuff
ОтветитьHe's just unreal
ОтветитьI'm a huge EVH guy. But what this man has done blows me away for decades. I rewired my strat to what I heard was how he did it. I'm so close.
ОтветитьOutstanding performance!
ОтветитьI am here because I just read an article about Stevie Ray Vaughn who rated him as one of the best.
ОтветитьIncredible!!!
Ответитьl lived off of Greenville ave in Dallas when SRV and Eric were still just Texas heros. They would both play a place called Tangos (frogs on the roof that are at Willy's truck stop now) about twice a month for about 2 years. SRV was young. Tones had just come out. They would each do a set then at midnight play for another 1 1/2 hours doing an all Hendrix jam. l saw Eric perfect Spanish Castle magic and SRV nail electric ladyland. We were so spoiled we'd show at midnight for $5 cover and $2 draw Shiner Bocks and the hendrix jams after seeing them both so many times. We could walk there from the jam house.
ОтветитьI actually gave birth to Eric Johnson and he had a mini strat when he popped out
ОтветитьI've been fortunate to see him a couple times, and talk about being unaffected by his greatness.
So polite, so humble, so gracious, such a wonderful son of Texas.
Knows that what you have will stand on its own and speak for itself, and attitude and cockiness do nothing but tarnish it.
He'd say things like "I'm not really where I'd like to be with this next piece, hopefully next time I see you, I'll be further along with it, but I hope this gives you an idea of what I'm trying to express..." and then he'd launch into something jaw-dropping and spellbinding.
The main drum groove reminds me of hot for teacher by van halen i love it !
ОтветитьGod, how can anyone be this good?
ОтветитьIt is a shame that whoever was directing cameras that night didn't realize Kyle was soloing until he was nearly done before getting a camera on him.
ОтветитьUnmatched tone, except for possibly Jeff Beck.
ОтветитьJust so underrated by the era looking back. Alex Lifeson in EJ's rare air of talent. But not many. I'll take EJ and Alex over Clapton and others any day. Not that I don't listen to everyone, but EJ's misfortune was SRV happened in same city, same time. I believe they both excelled because of each other. If course SRV also fired up by blues greats he eventually shared stages with, but real talent was everywhere. EJ and SRV were just amazing.
ОтветитьEric se pasea a lo largo del mástil a sus anchas 🎸👏👏👏

Wow !
Dude, could you wail, when you were a youngster ...!!!
He had a lesson
..
You can tell.
That opening lick 😍
ОтветитьHe is purely amazing. So much feeling in every single note he plays. And that tone.
ОтветитьI am 52 years old and throughout my life I admire this guitarist a lot, I am from the city of Mexico and how blessed life is, now I live in dallas tx and I feel very proud to live in the state where he was born, I know that He was born in Austin but it is a blessing to know that I live in his home state. Greetings and one of my favorite great guitarists.
ОтветитьYes, hi s tone is powerful and distinctive
ОтветитьAppreciation, is a very meaningful word..and that is Eric Johnson quality guitar work.🇬🇧👍and live too..no gimmicks
Ответитьthe man can sure make an intro
ОтветитьBig fan,MUCH respect for EJ.I heard that his Dad is in the medical field.?Thus, like his Pop,EJ's too is like a surgeon, but on the electric guitar.Soft touch, well crafted tone/tunes,carefully selected chords/scales.I try to do everything like THAT!;Well thought out.Great INFLUENCE on me too!
ОтветитьLovely to see a bass solo in there too
ОтветитьTried listening to Mayer. Ran back here to get the sound out of my head lol. Much better
ОтветитьWhen the bass player plays the camera immediately moved to him!
Thanks !
I hope what he has is contagious
ОтветитьAnd like so many years in the past, Fender guitars carry the day.
ОтветитьGreat video thanks. I went to his Tones release show at Nick’s Uptown in Dallas. SRV strolled in around midnight and he and EJ finished the last two hours jamming with Hendrix tunes. If they rolled tape on that it would be priceless! What an amazing show that was.
ОтветитьWhat about the accent note? If he is the FChord?
