I just found your channel and I just want to say thank you for replenishing my anime supply!
ОтветитьI was not so secretly hoping he would show up again before they went North
Ответитьyou described the character so well tnx you
Ответитьrecurring* 😅
ОтветитьI'm pretty sure Gorilla Warrior is dead given how straightforward the story is.
ОтветитьSometimes farewell, doesnt have to mean goodbye…
ОтветитьIf only he had stayed he would’ve met momm- I mean Methode
ОтветитьI knew he'd depart because all along they'd show that his friend meant everything to him and he was pursuing him at any cost now. Perhaps I could have bought that he would sacrifice that need if Frieran's party had a greater need... but they didn't. He went on this journey to find his friend and he only stayed as long as he did because the snow storm delayed their departure. He even says as much, a wistful smile that he gets to spent a little more time with them first.
(Also he wasn't prominent in the opening but that's kind of cheating to read the plot.)
the thing i love about sein, is that he will not respect the lolicon logic: he doesnt care that youre 'aCtuALLy a 1000 gOdDesS', if you look young, you look young and being attracted to child looking ppl is weird. hes a certified milf lover 💪
Ответить"it'll be embarrassing when we meet again"
yeah, they'll meet again someday
will WE see them meet again? idk
but i don't think i'll mind it cuz i know they will
Boring
ОтветитьI actually assumed Sein was going to leave, he was much more hung up on not traveling with his friend and he seemed to be looking at Frierens party as an observer more than a member. That said I still want him to come back and join them, but I wasnt shocked he was leaving
ОтветитьDeparture is also a great part of Frieren story, I wasn't shock or surprised when Sain left but, it was change that I felt.
And as we learned after, it wasn't a goodbye but an until next time.
Sein leaving makes the story feel more real / less storybook in exactly the same was as having a character die, but better because he's still around and in the world 'off-screen'.
ОтветитьThank you for making theese videos
ОтветитьI think this juxtaposes nicely with characters like Brock leaving the main group of characters in Pokémon.
ОтветитьThings like this is what makes the world that much bigger. We consistently have people come into our lives, and then leave. Reminding that we all have our own lives to play, that just because the story revolves around these characters, doesnt mean they are the protagonists of everyone's story.
ОтветитьWow thanks for pointing this out
ОтветитьQuality stuff man
ОтветитьEvery time a character makes their leave in this show it feels like saying goodbye to a good friend. I havent had a character show up that I don't like.
ОтветитьFrierens new party cannot be a mirror to the old party. It's true, that they need a healer but do they really? Also Stark is not a real tank, he's a 2h dps meleer. He's got no armor and less resilience than his master. Fern and Frieren are just two casters with slight abilities in the healing department. Obviously so far, that's enough to kill dragons. The old party was a perfect traditional hero group, role playing style. Here, Fern will always be Frierens apprentice even if she bests her in a combat and stark cannot replace both Himmel and Eisen. Also, the dangers in the present are limited, since the demons are on the retreat. There's now town and cities thriving with humans - one seeks adventure has to travel in order to get it. Losing a single caster would be unforgivable in the old times but nowadays, it's acceptable if magic users during the graduation exam. Also, the graduates choose spells with some utility but without use for combat situations. Frierens present is one with a lack of urgency mirroring her own self.
Ответитьthe mimic running gag is legit funny. Never disapoints.
ОтветитьFrieren will end up as a generational story, something that lasts a long, long time as a hallmark of a gorgeous tale. I've never seen a story that is both so fantastical and so realistic, often at exactly the same time. Kanehito Yamada is a genius.
ОтветитьI think Frieren will ultimately have a party of 5. there's a small bit of me where i think she may consider herself outside the new "party of heroes". ( as well there may arise a need very soon for there to be a new Hero. (yeah i think s h its about to go very down in the story )
ОтветитьI think the core of what Frieren is, this all go in a way that makes sense.
Because it's a story about people. And people aren't always cut from a fairytale cloth.
Could you make that sein video about thinking you’re too old. I could really use that video lol. Great videos as always. I was about halfway through when I saw these videos. And great essays. Felt like a directors cut for episodes.
ОтветитьI thought Sein would leave and come back in season 2 or 3 because that's another trope. I didn't want him to leave, but I had the vibe he would.
ОтветитьThey had to wait a month before the mage exam started. They could have met up with Gorilla Warrior & come back. But we'll never really know.
ОтветитьMost written animes would have had him return to the party having that character return in some regrades to being loyal to their new friends or realizing the goal they set out was a past version of themselves and moving on is the heathier solution. But this anime did right by doing so. He be missed though but this may open up to them adding a new party member('s) later on.
ОтветитьWe have Alexander Hamilton at home
Ответитьhow can you be a frieren fan and still make the joke about her going for all the loot even though she just runs the percentages and figures it is worth to go for the 1% chance that there is loot.
ОтветитьFun fact: This was my first video I watched about frieren and is the reason why I watched it. Now, it might be my favorite if you forget about nostalgic anime
ОтветитьHim leaving felt in line with the inconstant nature of life which I think what the slow paced nature of the story tries to convey - it's a journey with its ups and downs even if it seems slow/still. This also reflects how Elves like Frieren mostly view relationships in that they are easy come, easy go
ОтветитьSein Will return
ОтветитьSlight spoilers below:
Ok maybe major spoilers
He does come back, but not for a long time. When he does finally come back it isn’t just a little cameo but to play a major role in the story.
Sein's friend was called Gorilla, the Warrior, not the Gorilla-Warrior
ОтветитьThis guy talks so much and says so little. Ugg boring
Ответить... they made it even worse, because he got explicitly included in the opening on that episode (or the one before?) ...
this show changed it's tone so often ...
it felt fresh,
because my life has been quite similar ... :3
... for me, it didn't "feel right" that he left ... but understandable ...
somehow i felt like, I KNEW that he was leaving ...
... but I HOPED, that he'd change his decision ...
(and honestly ... my life experiences have been pretty similar to to exactly that feeling) ...
being sad ... but trying to be ok with it ... even though, we will miss sth.
(I remember him saying sth like "how lonely it is, all of a sudden, when i travel alone")
Also, after all the DANGER they had been through ... traveling alone was pretty ... stupid and dangerous (and now considering, how they met him ... well ...)
Someone never played dnd.
ОтветитьBut don't we still expect him to show up again?
There was no way you were going to convince me Ned Stark's life was in danger. Right up until his head came off. Even then i had to reread the page. I just couldn't believe it. Seems relevant somehow.
Sein in my opinion is one of the greatest characters because well he’s an adult. When do things I feel like anime really does not do a lot is betray positive adult. Sure there are some dental quirky and stuff but having one who is mature and actually helping is something I really like for the entirety between the talk between him and Fern is so good because we have to remember important thing about Fern’s character. She grew up around adults, not people around her own age so she would go to. Sein because he’s an adult and well the current elf she’s being tutor by isn’t exactly the proper adult. And again, I really love the advice he gives her.
“ people won’t understand why you’re upset if you don’t tell the reason why”
I was like this is an anime, and yet you just said the most mature thing that you expect an adult in real life to say . God do I love this story so much
Part of why Sein stood out to me is his name. Every character has been given a German name based on who they are and what they do; Stark (strong), chef Lecker (delicious), Eisen (Iron), but Sein is a verb meaning "to be", or "is". And like you've said here, he really just is. Idk it just kind of stuck with me for the rest of the series.
ОтветитьThat party didn't need him because he was a healer priest. They needed him because he was the only adult
ОтветитьWhat I also noticed is that in the very next episode, Fern was sick. She had a simple cold and Frieren along with Stark have to take care of her naturally! To find the cause of Fern's sickness (the cold), Frieren uses notes that Sein gave her beforehand, as a means of "gift" or a helping manual for healing stuff that priests are usually more skilled at than mages! This goes to show that even if a character has left (temporarily or permanently) their presence is still there through moments like these! Sein isn't forgotten and I remember in a later episode when Frieren and Stark had to make Fern's mood better, Frieren begged Stark to mediate and the whole time I was thinking "Where the hell is Sein when you need him?!", which shows the impact he had on me with his brief appearance!
ОтветитьIt’s interesting cause it almost feels like his character appearing for a while and then leaving to us feels like that was so short why did he leave, he worked so well with the group
but that’s like the whole thing with Frieren
She lives so long that these relationships with humans feel so short and random and fleeting, hard to understand their long term meaning and relevance and frustrating to understand why it couldn’t last longer.
When starting Frieren it was painful to watch Frieren break away from the group after such a huge accomplishment from the perspective of us as humans. But this addition to the storyline shifts your perspective more to see through Frierens eyes in my opinion. Perhaps we shall see him again someday, perhaps not
