This is the most F*CKED UP story I ever heard. This guy did not come the USA illegally, but LEGALLY .. The system failed him, he was abused by his foster parents, and because of some stupid technical error they sent him back to Korea. If the expression " cut this guy some slack", applies anywhere - it certainly applies here. Incredible.

Now I see that deportations in the US is a damn disgrace. Why not deport all the descendant anchor babies from the Mayflower and Jamestown. Why not?

Poor man. I am French. I have heard of similar cases in America. Families adopt foreign children and then, change their mind and dump them. Disgusting. Children are not puppies. How can a country deport a man like that. I know American people living in France who are playing with the system, stay under the radars and take advantage of our country. They are not deported.

Its amazing how in this country you can get married to someone for papers almost unquestioned, but kids who u adopt and become part of your family can be taken from you

Actually could be a blessing in disguise. If he can learn Korean and the culture life there can be better than the US. If it's too expensive in Seoul, he can move to a more rural area.... But probably sucks because he has no friends. There are plenty of foreigners living there that speak English so make friends. Food is healthier and crime is low. Better than US for sure. Make the best of what you have now.

He was a kid & an adoptee. If you have a system which is designed to blame a child, then that child is not wrong, your system is, FFS.

Why didn't he get legal status after all these years? My daughter was born in Canada and I had to get her naturalized as an American citizen so she would have rights. It wasn't hard nor expensive. Why does everyone make excuses for doing the wrong thing instead of just doing what is right in the first place?

The people that adopted him were probably liberals. Liberals make poor decisions. They used him to make a statement among their friends as trendy, caring, and in touch with world issues. Much like Hollywood actors do. Children are not pets. Celebrities don’t need to prove that they have a connection with people, and certainly not by adopting children.

The only ones that should be deported are the freeloaders who came in under the Biden administration. Deporting people like this who are American citizens should be a crime. This should not be considered 'getting the job done.'

Doesn’t Adam qualify for special treatment because he was abused? A lot of illegal aliens have a path to become legal if they are victims. (Illegals who are convicted prostitutes with lengthy records get American citizenship because their pimp beat them up).

This is the new Maga cruelty that will affect many lives. The most vulnerable and innocent suffer. This country is morally, ethically, intellectually
and spiritually bankrupt. Money can’t buy honor and integrity. How sad for the foster mom who really wanted and loved him. Anyone who harms children deserves prison for life. No mercy. Our children deserve better. What a horror story to deport him. We need immigration attorneys to help these people.

So its ok that this boy, then man be violated. The only woman he felt safe with was not allowed to see him or adopt him, just bc others were interested in him. As usual, this bloody system failed a child, ultimately destroying him. Padre God help all these children STILL in the system. The system needs to sift out those social workers that do NOT have a conscious & just collect a paycheck. "Sra Isa"

There seems to be a lot of thing unexplained in this short documentary. Why was he sentenced to two years in prison for burglary....of his sneaker and Bible? And why no one helped him apply for special immigrant juvenile when he has in between adoptions? Why couldn't he apply for a waiver for his convictions? Or did he but he did not get approved for whatever reason? It's not as easy to deport someone as how this video seems to depict, and there should be more explanations to fill these "plot holes".

(Joan here). This kind of deportation is just so wrong. Such a problematic system. No justice, no sense, no compassion, no sense of right from wrong, just knee jerk follow-the-screwed-up-rules mindset. This man experienced ongoing significant and multiple losses of 'family', horrid childhood abuse and loss of freedom over the years. Yes, after such a history he acted out his anger and pain but slowly began the process to reclaim his life. Then the ultimate betrayal at the hands of essentially the only country/homeland he knew. So glad I am not from the not-so-good USA.
