Survivor 48 episode 11 reaction and review: Why is this season such a snooze!?

Shauhin is right that he can beat Joe because Joe's not playing to win the game for himself; he's playing to help Eva win the game. Controversial though it might be to say, I honestly believe that we're heading towards a Gabon 2.0 with Eva as Bob, the 3rd finalist as Susie, and Joe as Sugar.

I've stopped keeping up with the show because it was that bad for me, so thanks Matt and Jess for enduring the season and keeping us informed 😂💜 In regards to the question: Joe and Eva should've both gone ages ago. Joe should have been the vote out during the David vote if the 4 (Kyle, Kamilla, Mitch and Star) had any urgency to win. Eva should have left during the Sai vote if Sai, Chrissy, Mitch and Star had any fears of the Lagi 3. Those Lagi 3 should have been the first targets at merge especially when their bond that had been so obviously called out from the start.

This is getting so frustrating! I 1000% agree Eva should have been the target! Take out those advantages! Why did kamilla not want to flip the strategy when Eva flat out said I'm safe next vote and if I win immunity Joe will be too! Yes Joe is the clear winner but you have to get Eva out too to not be able to protect him. Flat out Kyle and kamilla (mainly Kyle!) waited too long to make a move and now it's the Joe show to the end. I'm praying next week they make something happen it looked like kamilla and Kyle are trying to play Joe but we'll see. This has been the most boring season ever.

I agreed with Jessica. Kyle/'s secret isn't revealing he is a lawyer, but that he can't do simple MATH. Joe and Eva are bonded, and Kyle won't win with them at final three. Also, THIS IS A GAME. Mary worked harder on coconuts than being trusted after David's exit. Hopefully Matt can stop yelling at the screen from these comatose players.😵‍💫 Imo Kamilla is targeted next - unless Kyle uses his bragged about 'problem solving skills' to win by blindsiding... EVA.

Agree 100%. Mary was the last hope for gameplay. All of the rest would never have taken Eva's idol.

This season is so frustrating. They’re all likable, however this was the time to make a power move and they didn’t so winner is boring likable Joe

This ep was so frustrating to watch because of Kyle's indecisiveness. And Eva getting to go on a journey again - please make it stop🙄

I wouldnt agree that this season is a snooze. But I am extremely frustrated at last night's tribal council. Kamilla and Kyle have been the most fun to watch and I have been rooting for them for the past 5 or 6 episodes. But last night did not make sense for not voting out Joe. He has the capability to win nearly every challenge and they dont take advantage of that when he doesnt? Joe and Eva could be safe for the next 2 tribals and then they wont have a chance at all.
The only thing I can think is that Kyle and Shauhin balked at voting for Joe or Eva because they think the jury may not award either of them a win if they are in the final three if they vote against those two at this stage. Maybe they think the farthest they can go in the alliance until they actually have to vote for each other is the better strategy for getting jury votes at the final tribal? But they cannot guarantee the numbers over the next two tribals like the did last night.
I seriously hope that Kamilla and Kyle have something interesting planned in the next episode that they thought may have not worked well if they enacted it too early (last nights tribal). Otherwise all that cool plotting and planning they did earlier in the season and their secret alliance will be for naught.

Season 48 should be a reminder of why recruits and "hotties" were phased out of the show. When those archetypes ban together there is a cliquish mentality....best case scenario you get a season 48 where at least the clique is likeable as human beings worst case you get a Big Brother 21 where the clique bully their way to the end. In any case the outsiders get picked off one by one, because the clique mentality is better to be in the clique and lose the game then to step outside and try to win.

David: in your exit interview you said you and Mary were not friends or allies. She just followed you around. Then why did you stand?

What a boring season 48 has become. Ughhhh. The way they showed Kyle, Camilla and Shahin during the reading of the votes, pausing, as if something were to happen. Another disappointment. Missing Sai and her chaos

Joe was paranoid this episode. When David wS paranoid they voted him out. Why not vote out Joe

Why has no one gone looking for idols? Initially Sai/Kyle and Star ➡️ (gave to Eva) [still a dumb move]

I'mma just say it this is a bottom 5 season. You know what I am going to keep reiterating this point : CAST SUPERFANS! These people will play hard and sometimes poorly but that is the fun of it and based on the rumored names we have for 50, it too might be the biggest disappointment of all time. When the recent Amazing Race brings tenfold excitement in me, when Traitors exists when shows like Million Dollar Secret, Got to Get Out and Battle Camp are more interesting to me when Australian Survivor is constantly finding new ways to grow as a franchise, I am genuinely beginning to for the first time see my interest in the show wane. This season is horrid.

I would get rid of Joe first. Joe first because life back at camp would be just miserable.

Thank you for pointing out the things that frustrated the heck out of me in this last episode!! First and foremost I am BAFFLED that no one is talking about or considering (including last might) voting out Eva. She has multiple advantages that she openly tells everyone she will use on both her and Joe - it would literally have been a game changer to blindside her last night....plus, I feel a little more strongly than you do about the fact that Eva has done a swan dive into the arrogance pool. She is so cocky. I also think she acted terribly about the Mary coconut situation for the very reasons you talked about: Eva has gotten to eat LOADS of food throughout the season. I 100% think her story is why she's not being voted out; Anyone else would have been voted out, or at least, considered. I agree with you that Kyle officially lost by his own hand in this episode. Kamilla is who Im rooting for, but after this episode I think we may only have the "WIll it be Joe or Eva who wins" topic left to talk about

tbh I'm rooting for Joe and Eva. They're just steamrolling, and the underdogs have made it impossible to root for them. So I've just decided to give in to the Joe and Eva Show and I'm enjoying this season lol

I don’t like to shout fixed game on the norm, but this is starting to feel like a fixed game. Never in the history of the show has a group not tried to flush out idols or make zero moves. If I was on the jury I wouldn’t vote for any of them to win. They might as well hand it to Joe or Eva now and save the time of watching the rest of the season 🙄

I cannot BELIEVE that they didn't vote him out. Seems like they were too timid to do so, and if that's the case, then Joe deserves the win. Seriously, it would've been the perfect time...or even to vote out his best pal, I can never remember her name. But she didnt use her idol. WHY? What are these people waiting for??????

I knew Mary was out as soon as Kamila said that she & Kyle were still deciding if voting out Joe was the right decision. Star could've been fun if anyone gave her the time of day. The only people who should come back (if any) should be Mary and as much as I hate to say it, the annoying woman with one consonant and then 83 vowels in her name.

Unpopular opinion evidently, but I’m rooting for Joe and Eva. They’ve dominated. They deserve it. Also Eva has autism and as a mother of an autistic son, sometimes they don’t pick up on social cues and they say exactly what’s on their mind. I don’t think she’s meaning to come across as arrogant, I think some of her comments and the way she’s playing the game is just part of not playing the best social game.

They should have voted out Eva or Joe. You may never get another chance. Happy Friday ❌️ ⭕️

IMO, Joe and Eva are the most sanctimonious, dull pair in Survivor history. I hate to see the others follow them with so much loyalty.

Boring season because the contestants seem like having island retreat, no strategic move. Final 6 is a shame by Survivor standard.

I have had enough of eva. I work with kids on the Spectrum and I can tell you every single season there are multiple contestants on the spectrum they just don't talk about it. Eva is so high-functioning I'm surprised she was even diagnosed. Joe is carrying her through the season and she has become so arrogant and rude I can't stand her anymore. She needs to go

I think it’s gonna come down to Joe , Eva and Keith. My concern is that Joe will stand aside and let Eva win if he has the opportunity. At this point I’m so frustrated with all of them. It doesn’t matter to me who wins except for Joe and Eve. I don’t want them to win. It’s just so frustrating.

I love that Mary ate the rest of the coconuts. They were going to vote her off anyway and were using the coconuts as an excuse to villianize her. I hate that no one is playing survivor this season and I especially hate that Mitch and Kyle are satisfied playing a safe game and handing the million dollars to Joe. They don't seem to have that drive to win. The winner of this season will have sailed to the end without needing to make any strategic moves. Very disappointing.

Eva should have lost her vote on a technicality. The rules for the Journey challenge clearly state: "When the timer ENDS, if you do not have at least FOUR levels completed, you will LOSE YOUR VOTE.” (You can pause the video at 18 minutes 36 seconds to read this rule yourself.) However, Eva did not wait for the timer to run out. Instead, she prematurely declared completion by slapping her four levels down even though there was clearly ample time left in the sandglass. (The camera shows it as she knocks the stack down)

Waiting for the timer to expire is essential—not just because it’s explicitly stated in the rules, but also to confirm the structure’s integrity. A key part of the challenge is ensuring that your build remains standing until time is up. Environmental factors like wind, rain, or sun often play a role in these challenges, potentially affecting the outcome. For instance, a gust of wind could easily topple a poorly constructed structure before the timer finishes, forcing the contestant to rebuild.

Nowhere in the rules does it say, “If you complete four levels, you can stop the challenge at any time and your vote is safe.” By ending her attempt early and not adhering to the clearly defined rules, Eva SHOULD HAVE LOST HER VOTE!!!!

I’m sad. Survivor is and always has been my favorite reality show. This season is frustrating, boring, and just, blah. Do I like everyone? Yes. Do I like when people can have an alliance & keep it? Yes. But, this is beyond ridiculous. And, I’m feeling like the arrogance of a few…is starting to show its true colors. C’mon Kyle!! Do something!! Can’t wait for Poker Face!!😂

The underlings don’t deserve to win if they aren’t going to make moves now…time is running out.

It was another disappointing episode. I did like David standing up for when Mary was voted out. I know it's not a popular opinion. It showed me David respected Mary and her game fighting from the bottom. I also liked when Mary told Joe she was voting for him. And that it spooked him out. Loved it.

Why are you guys hating on Mitch? He's told us that he is about to make a big move. He has told us in each of the last four episodes that he is about to make a big move. He is getting ready to make a big move. It is still early in the game, but he is definitely about to make a big move. Why don't you believe him? I absolutely guarantee that within the next four episodes, we will see Mitch make a big move. I think the big move he has in mind may be who he votes for when he's on the jury, so we just have to wait till he's on the jury and then he is going to make his big move.....and you think he's boring? Ha! You'll see.

I think we should start a poll of who they will vote out tomorrow, May 14th. My prediction is that they will vote out the least powerful player, whoever that is as they are too cowardly to make any real moves on Joe or Eva. Hope that doesn't sound too cynical...
