Looks like old Malaysia town coffee shop.

Yes, that’s the oldest way of toasting your bread over the glowing charcoal, I grew up eating these bread on the island which I grew up in and the coffee shop which is just next to my grandparents’ house is my favourite place that I hang out with all my friends 😂😂. The coffee shop uncle roasted his own coffee beans every afternoon and we’re treated to the fragrance of coffee beans playing around him 😂😂

The original kaya is brown in colour bcos the sugar is caramelised before adding into the eggs so I’m not sure how the green ones are made 😂

Of course now these 2 places have been renovated and they look retro and clean but years ago when I first visited, they looked and felt like this Heap Seng Leong Coffeeshop.

You should visit some of the older HDB satellite towns like Toa Payoh, Queenstown, Tiong Bahru, Havelock Delta. These have hidden gems in old kopitams.

The kaya is just normal tin commercial kaya with colouring. You can order kopi gao kosong/siew dai. I always order gao, sometimes de lor if I know that stall's kopi is weak.

One dayy you should film yourself at 10PM at night ordrering the KOKA wanton noodles. Bring a board game or a novel to read, see how many pokemon you can catch before you get your food.,
