Richard, thanks for the timely video! The other day, I was working on a database and was wondering how I could filter the combo box!
ОтветитьI tried this on a combo box on a continuous form, and as soon as I started typing all the combo boxes (for each record) blanked out. Will this not work with combo boxes on a continuous form, or is it something |I did wrong?
ОтветитьRick rocks again
ОтветитьGood day sir, I have being enjoying your tutorial recently, pls sir do you have anyone on student report sheet creation or the guide to develop one, thanks
ОтветитьSir Richard, thank you for all our videos. This is easier than searching solutions in google and Bing Chat often gives a link to one of your videos whenever I ask for some codes. I do also want to ask if there is a way to have power query feature in ms access? Power query can get data from different sources however it is only in excel.
ОтветитьThanks sir , Your all lecture are great.
Love you
Great 👍
Can u explain how can the sorting be done first those name which begins with the text typed by the user and then wherever the typed text is in within the searched name?
Cool. Very helpful
ОтветитьThanks Richard really you are doing great job
ОтветитьYUP very cool...
ОтветитьUnfortunately, this approach creates more problems than it solves. If you type something and after filtering you want to browse through the options suggested with the up and down arrows on the keyboard then an unpleasant surprise awaits the user. You are forced to navigate with the mouse otherwise with the first movement of the arrows all options are lost!!! Even worst if you choose one option and go to create new record then in the new record if you open the dropdown with mouse then it has only the previous one!!! So if you want to see all the options you are in a nightmare!!!
ОтветитьThanks heaps :)))
ОтветитьHello Richard, thanks for your lessons, I learn a lot from them spite being on the free courses. I would like to ask you how can I join the lesson from "Microsoft Access Cascading Combo Boxes - One Combo Box Selection Filters a Second Combo Box" (After Update event) to the "How to Filter the Data in a Combo Box or List Box as you Type in Microsoft Access" (On Change event).
I try to use in the "CustomerF" made in the cascading combo lesson (Country, State and City), filtering the "CountryCombo" with "On Change event" and using "After Update event" like you mention, and when I load the form or go to other record to fill it up with data, the "CountryT" continuous with the previous filter on that table giving the impossibility to choose another value to the "CountryCombo" field. Can you give me some insight?
I think that I need to put some VBA "On Change Event" to remove the filter from "CountryT" when I load the form or go to another record after update the State and City field.
Thanks.
Very cool😊
ОтветитьHello Sir, i need cmb list Filter as type
ОтветитьHello Richard. I used your method on a continuous form. I have a list with over 800 records and I need to find a record within the list. It worked with a twist. I was getting Run time error 2185 "You can't reference a property or method for a control unless the control has the focus ...". So after some digging I added MySearchCombo.SetFocus before the SELECT. Now it works. Any pointers? Thank you in advance.
ОтветитьGreat video.
ОтветитьHI..Richard..The combox box work fine with the mouse to go down.the items. ..Now if i press the down key it just select the one the is focus. NOt practical. How can i put the down key simple to go to the next item or the up key..
Ответитьhi richard,
big fan of your great work, please can you make a video where you can search in a search form and return the value to another form
