Most of the shows issues are because of Viv
1- She cannot take Criticism (and since people will defend anything she does, she does not have too)
2- She thinks shes a better writer than she actually is
3- Context is never shown in the show, to understand her shows you have to have watched streams from ages ago, Read everything she has wrote since she was born and stalk her daily to truly understand (For Legal reasons , I am exaggerating)
4- Characters deign overload, She can create good designs but she cannot tone it down EVERYTHING has to super unique to the point it can actually lead to blandness and make already less showy characters feel worse
5- She has a obsesson with male characters , and so they tend to get most of the screen time, when being questioned on the lack of development of female characters on Helluva, she stated that it was the "Male show" meaning it focused on its male characters more and that Hasbin was the female show, only the male characters to get more love, Vox, Val, Alastor , Angel dust, Lucifer and adam , what I am saying is that Viv loves to play favourites story be damned

The show was originally supposed to be a lot more episodic like you described, but it got cut down for time and they ended up just focusing on the main story arc which didn’t really come out that good (I’m a really big hazbin fan, but I know its flaws)

I feel like all of the comedy in the show just feels the fish guy from Spongebob is shouting, "Oh, brother, this guy stinks!"

as a professional story writer, the dialog in this show is the pure definition of ass. i mainly focus on dialog since i believe any good dialog can enhance a story, but the hazbin choosing of writers and story boarders hurts this from reaching the stories' potential

I mentioned this in a comment on a Hazbin related reel on Instagram, but I will forever believe that Charlie should've been that type of character that would never curse, like the type that will say "heck" "crap" or "shoot". Because you can't see her optimistic personality and think "yeah, she swears often."

Plus it'd be ironic that the daughter of the literal devil refuses to swear.

i think you can best sum up the dialogue as being "written by what an early teenager (14 - 16) thinks adults talk like" - it certainly feels like that, at least.

everyone curses every other fucking word, and while i'm no stranger to doing so i don't do it constantly because it's stupid as fuck. It makes you come across as an immature twat with little to no greater vocabulary other than "hehe he said the bad words ecks DEEEEE1!!!!!" - and that's not a good look for characters who are meant to be adults.

i'm still wondering how the hell they got Keith David to play the bartender.
