Love the detective work in this.
ОтветитьWhen I think of america, I think of George washington!
ОтветитьJohn Wayne's Son is not an expert
ОтветитьWhat the name of the song in the background in the beginning
ОтветитьFelt bad for the seller..
ОтветитьWhats the music playing?
ОтветитьWhen you call a buddy, and the buddy also needs to call a buddy.
ОтветитьI think the seller was actually surprised it wasn't real. Why would he agree to meet with John Wayne's son who's father he obviously greatly admired and get embarrassed Iike that in front of him if he knew it was fake?
ОтветитьGood old Ethan, he is named after character his dad played in "The Searchers" (1956) and he played his dad's grandson in "Big Jake" (1971)
Ответитьthe old man should have just kept his mouth shut. worst person on Pawn Stars.
ОтветитьI reckon the seller knew it was a fraud and was trying to off load it to another sucker. Body language made me suspicious, or could just be down to the way the edited the footage.
Ответить😮
ОтветитьThat guy knew it was a fake and didn't expect what happen to line up the way it did.
ОтветитьI feel bad for the guy, but at the same time that tag looks like it was written last week. “Oh it’s legit because this handwritten tag matches a number engraved on the blade”. Mmmhmmm
ОтветитьThe seller is devastated and so am I. At least we got to see John Wayne’s son.
ОтветитьI knew it was a fake the moment I saw the blade. Theres not a single proof mark anywhere. The blade does not match the grip, hilt or scabbard- those are old, this blade is much more recent and is ground the same way the modern imported Indian and Pakistani sabers are. the really long choil, where the edge starts near the guard, is too long. The Indian imports all have this long choil. So its not an old US Army saber sold surplus. the screw head showing on the bottom of the pommel mean it has a threaded tang- Also a signature of a modern repro sword. (All originals are peened.) The poorly defined blade, with its very blunt edge and shallow fullering, its overall crude appearance and clumsy looking false edge near the point, all mean the blade is a replacement tacked on to older hardware.
ОтветитьRicks expert had to call in his expert.
ОтветитьI find it funny how so many comments think the seller is in on the fraud... If that were the case he would not have agreed to be filmed, geniuses.
Ответитьawful short to be a Wayne. Maybe he is a fake
ОтветитьThis guy was totally planning on selling all those other swords he mentioned to the pawn shop one by one. He thought he was slick lol
ОтветитьDude looked sheepish when Rick mentioned expert.
ОтветитьI would have wanted John Wayne collectables, But after hearing what came out his mouth in that interview. It just destroyed my image of him.
ОтветитьThat pixelated signature. In over a decade of business I have never seen a place screw a signature up so badly. It's so illegible, I thought they'd done it in post.
ОтветитьRick always knows somebody, who knows somebody, that knows something about it..
ОтветитьI can't believe the seller didn't think of calling the number on the COA before buying the sword.
ОтветитьHere we have a costume company who has a sword used my John Wayne in a movie, and they are willing to sell it to him??????
ОтветитьWhen I think about america, I think elvis
Ответитьthe old man was probably about when the old west was young.
ОтветитьSo you have a historical artifact and to get rid of it, you take it to a pawnshop?
God I miss the old History Channel.
john wanye's son..how cool to meet him. ..better than the item ..a memory for ever..
Ответить'I know it was used by John Wayne because it has a tag attatched with his name on it'
'Also would you like to buy a cheap real Rolex watch?'
In my gut I believe that this guy was himself the fraudster. I wonder how many of Rick's other clients who get caught with fake merchandise are in fact the forgers themselves to make a quick buck?
ОтветитьAre you sure it ain't my queen LOL p
ОтветитьMiss you old man RIP💐💐💐💐💐
Ответитьis that you john wayne? is this me?
ОтветитьYeah he is the one that faked it and got real nervous when they called in the experts 😆.. Nice try chump but you didn't win this one..
ОтветитьJust meeting John Wayne's son in general would be priceless
ОтветитьThis also goes to show that just because you have a CoA, doesn't mean the item is genuine. It's just a piece of paper that can be faked more easily than the item being sold. Even if CoAs had watermarks, microprinting, and colour shifting ink, the person who issued the certificate could be misinformed or a fraudster.
ОтветитьI think that dude made those fake documents. and I can suggest a couple of things to support this idea
ОтветитьWho is that guy looking at with his eye???? Looks like a glass eye..he should sell that
ОтветитьWayne had really small feet and he was pidgeon toed
ОтветитьVery unbecoming for asians to start playing the victim.
ОтветитьThe sword was as fake as John Wayne's reputation as a "great" American.
ОтветитьSounds like the costume company is a bit shady. Selling multiple items as the same thing maybe.
ОтветитьRick knows.
ОтветитьJohn Wayne's son looks a lot like Ted Bundy
ОтветитьThis guy is a fraud.. 5 more swords? Like what in the trunk so you can go from pawn shop to pawn shop ? Haha
Ответить
