Bang for buck, Steinhart makes some niece pieces. Really dig the 39 ocean one version. Nice review, appreciate the details.
ОтветитьExcellent review on the Steinhart Ocean One Vintage 42mm. Will buy one to add to my collection.Greeting from Venezuela!!!!!
ОтветитьI’d have to give the nod to the vintage version. It just seems more set apart from the sub homages.
Ответить39 mm is my pick
Ответить39mm would be my choice.
ОтветитьThere is an updated Steinhart Ocean One 39 ceramic with an engraved ceramic bezel filled with white enamel. Uploaded it on my channel. So much sharper and much more easier to read the bezel.
ОтветитьI've been thinking about the vintage 42. Thanks for these review!
Ответить42mm Ocean One Vintage is a very special piece. Considered flipping because of my 6.75 wrist. However, I just can’t part with it- love everything about it, except the larger size (printed, gilt, Old Radium, Explorer dial, drilled lugs, chamfered lugs..beautiful!)
I’m running mine on a 20mm single pass nato, on “fixed looking” springbars — A REAL SHOW STOPPER!!
Go easy on the umm's and ahh's bro
ОтветитьWonderful video! Solid end links??
ОтветитьThanks for the comparison ... even though I'm just as uncertain as before when it comes to which I want to buy ... :D
Thing is that the vintage (IMO) is a little less "problematic" since it mimics a design that's been out of production for decades. So as much as I would love to have a ceramic bezel, it would have to be either this Vintage or the other "Vintage Red" model they offer. Good thing that the only Steinhart-dealer in my country is only 40 km away, so I might be able to try both on first. I'm not too sure if I could pull off either of the two larger models on my 6.75 inch wrist ....
Hi guys! What do you think of the vintage 39 with explorer dial?? It looks even better that this vintage 42 explorer dial... There look different but there are both amazing! Personally I go for the vintages Steinhart, there all look awesome! Especially the 39 mn ones... Explorer Dial and OVM! Killers.
The vintage red is also fantastic but unfortunately only 42 mm are available. So much to chose anyways..
The OVM, the vintage military 39 is also marvelous!!
Please help me, I am totally confuse now... It s too hard to make a choice...
I think my favorite is the red one but since it exists only in 42 I will probably buy the OVM or the Explorer 39.
Do you know guys if Steinhart is going to make a red one in 39 mm soon?? That would be awesome!
Thanks
I ordered the Ocean One Vintage a couple of days ago and am waiting for it to arrive. I went back and forth between the 2 you have here but the ‘no date’ and vintage look won out, plus I like the drilled lugs for ease in maybe throwing a Nato or leather strap on it.
ОтветитьElabore grade is not the top grade, the top grade is called "top" infact. Elabore is the middle grade. Premium as Steinhart adds, is refering to their decorated rotor.
ОтветитьHow are both of these keeping time, my new Steinhart OVM is running 26 seconds fast, I have watches with NH35A movements that keep better time.
ОтветитьI have a small wrist so I am thinking about the 39 mm . Both are beautiful .
ОтветитьI have the Ocean 1 Vintage & it is GORRRRR GEEE USSSSS!!!
The'39 is an Ordinary Rolex Sub look alike & homages of contemporary Subbies just don't make it. I love that big crown, Gilt Explorer Dial, which is SOOOO Legible. Yes! It's A Big Fat Watch, But - because it has no Crown-Guards it wears more like a 40mm. A Tip - if you turn the bracelet back-To-front, it is much more Comfy. Akso, didju know you can use A Unidirectional Elapsed-Time Bezel as A Calendar Ring?
Very good rundown- thanks. I'm considering both- the 39mm Ocean One is the best conventional choice. Yet the Vintage gives a guy a larger size and different look.
ОтветитьWhy make a vintage in 42
ОтветитьI don't think the "elabore" ETA is the top grade its the 2nd of 4 grades, I think the "Chronometre" grade is the top.
ОтветитьI have both of these steinharts and others you won’t be disappointed 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
ОтветитьTo each their own, but that crystal is just tooooo domed, if it didn’t stick out so much I would buy it . I love steinhart, I have a 39 green ceramic , but I wish they would make a better clasp.... grrrrrr. Nothing is perfect I guess
ОтветитьThey're watches. When people call them time pieces, I want to punch them in the face. It's a trigger, lol. And I'm pretty sure the "gentleman" is Neptune
ОтветитьWhat is your wrist size, sir ?
ОтветитьVintage for me, hate dates on automatics
Ответить2mm hmmmm
ОтветитьI love the 42 mm.
ОтветитьCeramic vintage reminds me of Tudor w/o the snow flake hands which I don't like
ОтветитьI have an Ocean One in 39 mm with the (new) green ceramic bezel, and an Ocean One GMT Classic in 42 mm with the blue/black ceramic bezel. I find the bezel action on the 39 mm much stiffer (and harder to grip with the smaller diameter) as compared to the 42 mm. Winding action on the GMT with the Sellita 330-2 is also much smoother.
ОтветитьMakes "vintage" aesthetic watch in wall clock size. Ok then.
