That thumbnail. 😆
ОтветитьAs a foreigner I don't understand the ULEZ thing.
Is it to keep the poor out of the rich areas?
It was a sad day when Citroen did away with oleopneumatic suspension, a massive step backwards.
ОтветитьMy Mercedes can also collapse down on its suspension at the back, I assume the rusted subframe is a design feature...🤔
ОтветитьI have an early Xantia that sinks down overnight. Absolutely fantastic to wait till the car builds up pressure and rises when you start it.
The later ones stayed on driving height while parked in an attempt to make the suspension more regular. That was the beginning of the end of hydropneumatic suspension imho.
In 1975 I bought a 1972 Citroen GS - ERO 735K, which had a very similar system. I bought it from a Citroen Main Dealer, and never took it out for a test drive - it was behind loads of other cars. On the change over day, I took in my old car - a SAAB 96, and drove the Citroen back to work - about a mile. I honestly thought I was going to be sick, the suspension was like nothing I had experienced before ! I soon got used to it though, and what a comfy ride they give - unbelievable, like floating on air. Great video Alex - thanks for sharing. Take care 🙂
ОтветитьHello Alex.
Very interesting Alex
Great little video Alex, always fascinating to watch a Citroen rise and drop, this Xantia looks well specced out and 60mpg is pretty decent too!
ОтветитьClive is so proud of that terrific car. Quite rightly.
ОтветитьYay! It worked...thank @#$% for that...catch you in the next one,
Take care...

Well I didn’t know that Citroen model did that so thank you for improving my knowledge as ever.
I have a secret lust for a DS 19 or 21 - maybe next spring!
